Re: St. Augustine in May/June: UPDATED: Now With Dates!

OK...here's the latest...

We have set a date for the trip around. We'll be leaving Sanford on June 9th (Thursday), spending the night in Jacksonville, and hitting St. Augustine on Friday, June 10th. We'll leave Monday for the trip on to Daytona Beach.

We would like to see if everyone can try to make Saturday, June 11th a get-together day. When it gets a little closer, I'll PM my phone number to the others who want to show so they can call when they're close or when they arrive. Tell your friends!

Re: St. Augustine in May/June?!?

That's why I have a boat that pumps 28,000 BTU's of A/C. Crack the sliding door and the cockpit even has a nice breeze. Someone once said "there's a simple solution to every major problem"! :D

Sounds like a very inteligent person:rolleyes:... Wait a minute... Am I talking about the one with the 28,000 BTU's of A/C, and the resourcful nice breeze, or the one with the simple solutions?;)

I'll do all I can to make this work. Lookin' forward to meeting some iboaters:D.

Same here, veritas honus,

June 11 is good for me. I need to be in Delaware on the 16th, which will mean no boat, we will drive. Boat is not a problem, I'm on one almost everyday.

Let's see if we can get some more people involved as well. I'll have a giant 110 qt cooler with me as well as a grill on the boat. There are also plenty of places around for smaller items, as well as a small ship's store.

Oh...there's also this big freakin' fort they just built...

We are looking at staying at the Bayfront Inn for a couple days. Just a short crawl.....I mean walk...from the marina. Any other suggestions?

The only other place I stayed was at the Conch house, but that's on the other side of the river. If worse comes to worse, we have a spare berth to port, double sleeping on the flybridge, and a pull out sofa. Or, hell...claim a hunk of carpet and I'll see you in the morning...

Very generous of you Fireman.......A motel will suit us just fine. How many days are you planning on staying at the marina? We have had some good times in St. Augustine and I think a pub crawl on a trolly to the haunted pubs would be in the plans.

Well...if you're going to twist my arm...

We'll be there Friday afternoon/night...all day Saturday & Sunday, leave Monday around 0800.

Reminds me of the Duval Crawl in Key West...

Re: St. Augustine in May/June: UPDATED: Now With Dates!

My plans are finalized with the Admiral. We have planned our trip north (Cracker Vacation) which includes a stop in St. Augustine. Have housesitters (with guns ;)) from up north that want to hang out here. We plan on arriving on the 11th, and need to leave St.A. by the 14th.

I understand when approaching by boat....dates can be difficult to achieve.

Good Luck on your boat trip, Fireman, and I hope to meet others there also.

See Ya'll there!

Must be a terrible thing:rolleyes:... How can you stand it:confused:

I'm sure my wife would absolutely love that:D. She's not much of a drinker, but she's very intrigued with haunted places. She'd love to stay in a haunted hotel/motel or bed-n-breakfast. Know of any in St Augustine?

Not tryin' ta jack dis tread Fireman, can ya tro me a little slack dis time?... Maybe just consider this a little sidebar?

VH...are you coming by boat or car? There are quite a few hotels in the area within a 2-3 mile drive and also quite a few B&B's within walking distance. I would think a Google search would help out best. How about this?:

(hee hee)

Your wife may not be much of a drinker now...wait until June 11th weekend is over. Her liver is liable to leap out of her body and start attacking birds on the dock...

After talking it over with my Lady, She says she would love to stay on your boat, fireman. We are easy.

I am not sure yet what I will do, I am planning to be there if at all possible, still not sure about the boat. I do think the boat ramp at Beach Blvd is probably the best place I have found so far if I bring the boat. I will also have to find a place to stay, may check into one of the places that are within walking distance since if in boat no ride and even if in car would not be safe for me to drive after doing a pub crawl, would probably have to crawl to where I am staying. :D

It would all be walking or taxi. No way would I let anyone drive after that kind of drinking.
