Re: sasto needs our prayers

well sasto a small price to pay my prayers are for the lesser of two evils
hope every thing goes well

Ray
Thank you, Ray. I have confidence It will be just a tooth pull. I have no fear of having to go through more than this. The only problem I have is business is booming and I have more than I can handle for the next several months.

Keep your chin up, Sasto. Hoping all goes well, buddy.
I normally wouldn't have a problem keeping my chin up, GA, just not to high as it hurts my upper jaw. Have a good day!

Thoughts and prayers from my family still with you my friend no matter how significant or insignificant the issue may be.
Well, so far your prayers have been answered, Ken. Thank you very much! Mine are with you and yours.

i havent been on this forum for very long but you all have accepted me or at least thats how i feel
and sasto is one of those so i want to thank you sasto as well as everyone else
You are very easy to like, Ray!!!!

Hang in there Sasto. You've climbed mountains. This is merely a molehill. Good luck buddy!
Thanks a bunch, Ray. You are soooo right. nlain started this, and it sure made me feel good. I hope to help others that may have, or loved ones that have, treatments

In case it's from the outside in, mouth wash with peroxide 3%, and spit, don't swallow. Thinking of you.
I appreciate your thoughts, foodfisher. I wish I would have known this before. I do now! Doc has me on a rinse called Chlorhexidine Glucoconate along with Amoxicillin. This is to help me from having surgery at this time. Hope it works. I may use the mouth wash you recommend too. Can't hurt.

Still with you buddy!:encouragement:
Thanks Richard. Will be seeing you soon!

Thanks again, southkogs. I like your attitude. Eliminating my beer and cigars will greatly improve my chances. I have added more veggies, berries, nuts, and fruit to my diet. I'm a meat lover, but that's a small price to pay.

Re: sasto needs our prayers

Several good things come from this. I have a boat in the water that needs attention. I have been wanting to paint her hull and do some gelcoat work topside. She needs another coat of primer in the cockpit and painted. She came with an ugly bottom paint job. They painted all the way up to...and including...the boot stripe. I have all the materials on hand. So, if I get by with a simple tooth pull.......these will get done. In the meantime.....I just gonna run her!:)

Gladly. My dad's been dealing with post cancer stuff for a few years now. It's an uphill climb, and you need folks encouraging you.

Be careful with some of that - or at least get a few different advice sources. I tried eliminating meat years ago ... didn't work. I have hormone and digestive issues from a surgery several years ago. Poultry isn't so good for me. Red meat and pork are actually better for me as protein sources. No issues with cholesterol or BP after four years of that too. It's different for different folks, but look at the benefits of watching your sugars (including grains and fruits) and leaning on proteins and green vegetables.

Can't help ya' with the beer and cigars tho ;)

I hope your Dad gets through this. It looks like some of those side effects linger on. I had some issues that are slowly disappearing with time. I think the "chemo brain" has finally gone away. Toenails have finally fully grown out and are healthy. It's all better than the alternative. I have no plans on eliminating my beef. I just eat too much of it, and not enough veggies. Thanks for your input, buddy!

I haven't pulled my boat out of the water in a couple years. We almost have the trailer up to snuff for the quarter mile tow. I have a teak swimplatform to prep for install. I have followed many posts here. Some of you guys do some beautiful work. The boat is 40 years old and I really didn't want a perfect looking platform. Since she will get painted, I might as well make her purdy.

Update....Ornery, lively, and full of it. Thanks for the well wishes over the years. I may not get to participate as much....but I still get to lurk. Many of you have played a great part, whether you know it or not. I'm always willing to share my experience dealing with cancer. God gave me a reason....I thought that expired many years ago. ♡

Good luck with it. I know too many people right now that are also trying to be cancer survivors.

It's amazing what God uses to give you a new lease on life. Hope itself is probably one of the most powerful motivators one can have, and it sounds like you have it in spades!

Best wishes and fair winds, Cap'n.

God uses brain tumors to teach us a lesson? That's not very nice, especially when he does it to all those kids. I can introduce you to quite a few if you'd like. Perhaps, you can tell them what it is exactly they're supposed to learn from it all, or why god chose them for such a "special" gift? You know assuming they don't die first and/or have impaired cognitive function thanks to the tumor that God gave them. Happy Good Friday ;)

Thanks Rooster! Same here, I hope to cross paths with you.

Sorry to hear this, Bruce. Godspeed!

Thanks my friend. It really took me awhile to get motivated. I think the unknown and limited physical abilities kept me down longer than I wished. Wishing the best for you!

Maybe I should have been more clear. I totally agree with you! I feel God gave me the strength to overcome this because He isn't done with me yet. God never gave cancer to me, and He didn't take it away. A very Good Friday to all!

Amen, Brother! He lets things happen for a reason, which sometimes isn't clear. No, it doesn't seem fair with some of the things that happen to people. Rest assured, someday it will be made clear as to why. Good Friday to you, Sasto!

I haven't read through the entire thread, but thankfully sounds like things are looking up. I am just a couple years out from dealing with a couple brain tumors/surgeries, and then a double bypass just for good measure. It certainly gives you a new outlook on life, and grateful for every day. You know that.

Godspeed sasto. Contact me anytime if you ever need an ear, sounding board, whatever.

Nicely said gentlemen. God is not the author of evil, but He is sovereign. That makes it very tough to explain things sometimes. Obviously, faith has it's role.

... half of the value of the "gold" is the prescriptions you're sending down the drain! LOL.

Sasto my friend. You were a huge part of helping our family through my Mother in Law's ordeal in 2011. Mrs Ken and our entire family will never forget the support and encouragement sent during that time along with the rest of our iboats family.
We will never ever forget that.
