Its just an alkyd, same as Rustoleum or Tractor paint....but with a better color selection....looks good and you can add enamel hardener like the others.

Thanks Kc !
I do like all the colors to chose from on that sight though .. This place is like toon heaven ..
The only sounds are a few birds and my flatuance echoing off the bench .;)
The crew is being pretty lazy this morning .

So... I need to drill the transom garboard drain and the motor mounts. All prior drilled out and filled w/pb.
I've seen using the drill guide I guess the need is to drill a straight hole in reference to an angled transom. Any suggestions appreciated.
Someting like this. are ther alternative ways to do this without the tool?

That's what I use. For small jobs I have a set of drill guide blocks, but I prefer using the one like that where I can.

When I drilled mine, I made custom blocks from hunks of scrap hardwood.. I drilled a hole using a drill press so know it's square, then aligned and clamped it to the transom.

1" thick metal would be better but not many people have that lying around.

I never liked how flimsy those drill attachments looked.

I used 2 2X4's made them perfectly square as I could get them. Glued and screwed them. Drilled pilot holes first to screw them. Once they were done I just held them to the transom and used the edge where the 2 met to lay the drill bit. Drilled slowly.

I never had any trouble getting the gimble to slide in place going on. I drilled a little big. Glassed in the holes to seal them. Then redrilled them so the bolts fit again.

Yup, use some scrap 2x lumber and drill the correct sized hole with a drill press. Hold it flat against the transom, insert the dril bit and drill em. Eazee Peezeey and they be true to the angle.

So I started sanding the rear transom to prep for paint. I knew I had some work ahead of me to get there. Shucks....and other expletives.... Under the gelcoat I found other half assed repair patches. Also tons of covered over holes. Alot in the lower bottom water area.
Guess I know now ...like I already didn't total this boat. Now I'll be grinding all the gelcoat to see what other surprises there are. So many shucksters in this biz!

Bottom line ....don't let that purty gelcoat fool you!;)
