Here in the woods we're constantly dealing with carpenter ants. Years ago I built a garden railroad in my back yard with SS track and wood ties. I was about to add some wooden tressels I bought the following spring when I discovered most of my ties had been eaten away. That was the end of my railroad.

Kev,
Making your own color from Oil Based Rustoleum pro is really simple. Just get on the web to see what colors you mix to get a certain color and then use Acrylic Artist Paint (buy at Hobby Lobby or Michaels) to tint with or use the 1/2 pint cans of rustoleum in different colors to tint with. With White as your base, it doesn't take much to change the color of a Quart of white paint. Experiment with Teaspoons and tooth pics to see what you can come up with before doing the whole quart

Be sure to write your final color mixture on the can lid (or somewhere you won't lose it), in case you ever need to mix more!

My boat is under a tarp in front of my shop.. All of my on the water activities this summer have been in a canoe.

I'm hoping to get it back into the shop this fall/winter, but the Admiral and I bought a used pop-up camper this summer, and I somehow feel that the camper might spend some time in the shop this winter too. Nothing major, just a few minor fixes and upgrades. (At least that is what I'm thinking. What the Admiral is thinking, nobody knows...)

I have been quietly following your build you are making great progress, she will be tank when done. I thought I read that you live in Broomall PA? We were there yesterday at my wife's aunts house and that rain was crazy. They lost power for a while yesterday before we got there. I hope this crapy weather pattern we have been in for the last couple weeks leave us soon so I can get some of my projects worked on. Keep up the good work.

Hi mr300Z,

Thanks for the feedback and jump in anytime. Yup I lived in Broomall but moved to Newtown Square @ 10 min. away.
I've been working most sat. lately for ot and new job.
Yup the rain is a pita mostly all summer. My new old tarp ripped in 1/2 so throwing another one on today.
Checked out your link...looks like you've been pretty busy also.
Thanks.

top done for now.jpg So last week my glass and EEEpppoxy showed up. In the meantime my cover decided to split.
So I did a 1 man show again to install a new cover.
I cut off the old crap and saved the good parts. I reused some on the boat
Next was to lay out the 30 x 40 foot tarp to have the szilver side up vs. the black. Then folded it up. Pulled it to the hull. Next I lay out a bunch of hardwood pcs like 2x4 or what I have laying around.
I hace rope attached to the scrape wood and toss it over the boat. This time I used 6 of these.
Go to the other side of the boat and begin pulling the ropes. Mostly the middle the the fronts and back. Back and forth, they don't all pull up so easy. So expect to work it a little bit.
Go back tie 1 side down then tension off the other side lightly. Too tight rips it up from rough edges.
zool stopped by to help me out..
