Is there a website concerns section here. If so post it there. That sets off alarms and goes to the big dogs. At least on the van site I moderate.

So I ended up going to work sat and the weather was perfect here for messing with the boat. Bummer.
So today got dressed a little heavy and went to work a little bit. The bait well is going back in. Was topped with gelcoat and thick rough edges. Got the gelcoat off, perfect windy day to do that. Then took all the edges and feathered down to 1/8". I'm hoping this will help when I install and go to feather the cut sides to be more even with the deck. Also reduce buildup.

But let's see.. still have to do house chores, wash the dogs, get a tree.....

Current vB5 problems, and other pending changes make it unlikely to add subforums anytime soon....

Mods dont have the decision making in that area either, but we do make suggestions.

I guess the sit-in is over......maybe just start a thread here called Man Sewing and keep it going :D
It is part of the restoration. And best winter work going. TV and heat. Otherwise threads like mine would sit idle till spring when it warmed up. And I am working my tail off. Once the interior is done I will open up the motor to inspect. It needs a cam and headwork. You won't see me in the motor forums. I am restoring it.

If I end up having to fabricate my back bench seat, it will have to be from scratch and with the cost of the upholsterers i know of....ill probably end up going that route....but right now I just watch you guys tackle it, while sitting in the heat, in front of the TV. ;) I still think a go to thread, maybe even a stickie, would keep alot of it in one place to find.

zool Sounds like a good idea but seems like it will fade away.

So hey did an overnighter at work but got up to do da chores and holiday stuff. Got a chance to use the cold season USC 4-1 EEEEppppooxxxy.
Setting up real nice I say. Patched up the area on the spalsh well I prepped a couple weeks ago. Heat lamp help out alot, moved it around to cover other areas but in general the center area already set up...Cool!

We still seem to be getting a 3-4 hour window in the early afternoons to get the epoxy to set up on its own....ive been able to aim the heater at myself to keep cozy while the poxy does its own thing in its own time :D

Be careful with the heat lamp. Epoxy that cures too fast can become brittle. The fast set stuff should set up just fine if the temps are above 60 for 2 hours

All good. I kept on it every 15 min. wanted it to have a good tack then turn off the lamp and cover it up. Let's see what I can widdle down off the list of boat work today.

Got in this morning @ 8 am. Turned on da heater and was up to 60 in about 15 minutes, was like 40 outside. So i needed to secure some underside decking to the hull. Been pondering it for awhile how to approach it. Thought maybe wood blocking then glass. My concern was those areas are where the original thru transom deck drains were located. Not even sure I'm putting them back in. I won't know until the motor etc is installed to place or not place the self bailing drains. Thinking I'm gonna be good with 2 bilge pumps.
Anyway whooped up some pb and let some alot of glass soak in. So kinda like tiger hair mix. Good for big spots but not little holes etc. that need pb. I think it'll work out ok. Then glass it up. Just details to be completed. Snail pace.
