So a little at a time. I save the section of ply and glassed floor that I cut out of the cuddy berth when I had to access the Keel for replacement.
I saved it to make a template for the new wood to go back in and also to re-use the textured glassed floor to match up as I want to put that back in. That glass was over a 1/4" in some spots. Worked out ptretty good.;

Thanks I think it's an 80 grit flapper pad. I just keep using um till they get softer and then use for other so much not abrasion.

Went back out just now and started to work cleats in order to place the floor. Just a rough draft. Will need to seal some of the woods, glass etc but I really like the fit and something I can finally stand on;

Since I don't have any glue/glass on premises there is always something to diddle with.

Then I picked up some plywood to make a floor fit. I used my leftover batch of 1/4" pink foam for template and Am quite happy. 4-13-15 057.jpg 4-13-15 058.jpg 4-13-15 060.jpg

On the Sole;

Good for now. At least I got something done. Cut, fit, cut fit etc....Still alot of work to do in those areas shown but very happy smackin in something. Need to counter sink screws, make pb, resin wet out all supports.
I think I saw a flying fish go by while I was working and he smiled at me.
Catch ya later.

So hey... too cool. Started reworking my components back into the boat. First the live well at the sole. I've had it covered up for so long I forgot how it would work out in relation to the new structures. I placed the deep well and wow! Will fit in after some mods. to the underside of the glass on the deep well. I was real happy boutdat says I! Since I'm short on materials at the moment, gonna order some this week end. I have a good chance to make all the other 2 side well lay in and see how the stringers are affected. Originally they were cut down to 2 " above hull and rested on that. So we'll see.

New deck/sole;

Another perspective;

Definitley have some trimming resupporting going to be done. Just glad I can get that back in. I need that to Ice up Zool's, Mikes x2, the guy flippin me the finger, Mark72/233, JC55, GM and Phelps, Rick, and AMinch's Beers. + anyone else I may have missed< too many good guys! Glad those stints did the job Mike!! Pizza Pizza 2x a month! Per Admiral. {sneak in xtra cheese}
Just realised this thread is getting ridiculously long.

Oh I had more fun today for the mods to make the well fit. On either sides of the well, with the new stringers. I had to prior make butt joints. So the well was that no fit in those 2 areas. Flipped over the well and removed the little wood I had left on the underside of the well to trim and fit. I musta been in and outa the boat ten times today lugging that well with me until the trim fi.; Party Time Mike. But I'll be able to make her pretty with some fairing.

Well I diddled with some wood today and began fitting the deep sole well into place for fit. Made some cuts and re-templates with the pink 1/4" foam for the fit out. Looks pretty good to me. All this had to be done in any event not having EEEEpoxy or glass. So moving along;

Those black showing areas were from the result of butting up my stringers. I will fill those in later. In addition the existing glass/poly is very thick. So I will feather those edges down to match up to the new glass. One ding at a time.
Off to me backyard BBQ....Not sure yet but might do some beef stuffed peppers with cherrywood.

So anyway the sole well worked out very nice. Started to put my prefabbed stringers and bulkheads in and found issues with the existing other 2 fish wells. When I cut them out/demoing the boat the stringers were @ 2" high in those areas. So now after working with the new full height stringers and the existing wells I saved...Looks like I would have to do the same thing and I'm not really liking that structural butchery.

Nothing is squared up yet so that is what is going on at the moment. But the well 2 of them just kill any rear bulkheads and stringers to zippo. I think after I thought it out that I will place two fish boxes on deck and also have them be used as seating. I could build wells to accommodate the widths that are existing but still need to run conduit 3" back to the motor and related electric.
I've been pondering since day one about hide away seating etc for the rear but I think this kinda makes up me mind.
Just fyi.

4-13-15 089.jpg 4-13-15 090.jpg Thanks for the feedback Mr. Phelps...
So here I am working the stringers to fit and the bulkheads. Originally there were 2 fishwells on the rear deck port/starboard, mid ship in relation to the space of the deck before the rear prefabbed transom deck. When I removed the wells there was only 2" of stringers less any bulkheads in that area.
I ran all the stringers full run and full height and If I were to replace the fishwells I removed I would have to do the same thing to the stringers. I'm not going to do that and will add the new fishwell boxes on deck as seating. I did also add 2 add'l bulkheads that were not there just for peace of mind and wonder if I should add more?

So from where the new gas coffin box is is going back in with the same measurements and running the full height stringers as shown. Should I be aware or advised to add any other structural components?
I still need to build the tank platform and the bilge area platforms.
Just asking, appreciate feedback.
Thanks
KC

KFC is there any possibility to bulkhead the rear stringers and move them port or starboard to allow for the wells?

Are you installing a flat bottom tank? If so I think you need to make sure you build a solid base that spreads the load evenly and is well tabbed in to the stringers. I had installed ribs under my platform to carry the weight, then decided to also pour 2lb foam into the area to further spread the load. Just my thoughts.....
