I have the Chesapeake in black and chrome. Really like the look of the style of the gauge. Think you got it covered, maybe trim if you like to have that gauge.

There are two types.....I found out the hard way. One works for Mercruiser and Yamaha I think, the other model works for the other outboards. I bought one off EvilBay, when my drive went up, the gauge went down, lol. Had to get the correct one. Oh well, live and learn.

Got ya.Do ya think of that as a necessary gauge then?
Actually never really though much at all about that specific gauge. May make sense in a pickle.

Nah, I wouldn’t say necessary, though I don’t run trim tabs on my little 20’ boat, lol. With the trim, I think it’s pretty much by feel, unless maybe running at night. My boat already had a trim gauge, so I put a new one in when I upgraded the gauges. Those don’t typically come in a standard gauge set, you order the separate.

Thanks Chuck, currently shopping the other gauges out. All about price.
I've been working on trying to get most painting completed before it's too late. Plan is to cover floor properly before winter then move onto the other projects like repower and cuddy area.
Last few days have been prep, paint and non skid. With the temps being a little low work time is longer, most skeeters aren't
biting mearse and dry time is slower.
For the small radius corners I used a fender washer. Non skid is called "Soft Sand" beige medium grade.

Lets see if the pics stick;

went back out this morning and still tacky. I'll need to let it set up, probably by mid/late afternoon.
Hmmmm......let's see what else I can work on till then.

Holy crap man, that is a lot of prep work. So much blue tape. It turned out fantastic. Maybe someday I’ll do that to the gelcoat floor in the bow of the Chap.

And I think you get the grill master chef award for the weekend. Very nice eats!!!

So you lay down the non-skid with paint over the top of the gelcoat, or is the non-skid in the gelcoat?

I am painting the areas of the boat with a perfect paint match from Kirbys in Mass. The areas you see were all newly rebuilt. Same formula that Woodonglass uses for his rust oleum paint formula. I'm not a gelcoat guy.
1.Tape out the area
2. wet out with paint
3. Shaker with Soft Sand the area.
4. Roll over with dry roller to push into paint.
5. Let it set up awhile then lightly brush and recover sand for other areas. It's not cheap!
6. Next coat of paint. Can do up to 2 coats depending on temps etc.
7. Pull tape
8. Walk away!!!
Notes;
If some areas the sand does not stick I use a spray rustoleum fine metal primer then just top off with sand for a nice blend/match.
9. Repaint whole area lightly for paint match instead of blotch look. Does not need to be re-tapped.

Thanks for the tips! I'm just thinking ahead and making a mental bookmark for when I get to the point of deciding how I want to do the deck on my boat.

I forgot to mention that where you are doing the nonskid, lightly sand/prep area with some 220 grit and light acetone wipe/soapy water.
