Im thinkin....once we recover the vinyl on the engine doghouse and back seats over the winter...then I will re-do this thread and move it into FINISHED PROJECTS.......

today were off to PAHRUMP nv, home to legalized brothels, gambling .....and lots and lots of room to roam....it's all desert ofcourse....but hey there will be room for LOTS OF BOAT PROJECTS! lol we'll be looking at houses/property....theres some real good deals out there and since Im a photographer, I dont have to work 9-5 to make a living, could work out real well.... do 2 weddings a month and thats it etc...one 3 day convention gig every 2 or 3 months....no overhead....got your own well and septic...hook up some solar mebbe....dunno....we will see!

were thinikin we like the sleek so that brand would be our fixer upper source....local dead sleeks....seems to be quite a few of em around with too many lazy butts to bother workin on em....

Thats funny, I bought my boat from a guy in Pahrump who said it was too far to the lake! It would be quite a hike. Thats cool if pahrump would work for you, i know i couldnt handle it out there lol. plus you got that darn mountain to climb ever time you leave...
There have been a few sleekcrafts around lately, huh? we are moving from NW to NLV otherwise i would be lookin for a project. maybe early next year. Are you re-covering the doghouse and rear seats? if so i would like to see pics for ideas as i have to do mine also this winter.

Yikes, everyone is moving out of NW LV, first VegasPM , now Red4x,,, hope I'm not next.

Pahrump isn't a bad town, but like Red, it's too far out for me. What would that be, 2 hours to the lake? Have you looked at Logandale/Overton? It's relatively close to the lake and lost of places with land. Once the lake comes back up (if it ever does ) Overton Beach marina would be really close, 15 minutes out of town. If I had a choice of where to move it would be Boulder City, but that ain't happening any time soon for me.

Yeah,,, I grew up in Wisconsin and now live in the middle of the desert... Every day during the summer I rode my bike down to the lake, my folks place up there has 5-6 lakes within 15 minutes. Looks like I didn't make the best decision of where to live, huh

Prob going out of Calleville this sunday the 29th aug....head west to near swallow bay gonna scope out some coves....mebbe go to gov/las vegas wash to check out the water levels...see whats changed and bang up a prop lol...mebbe catch a striper or 2

Dan ...we checked out overton logandale....pretty neato up there but REAL small townish....no major stores/burger joints and such...plus its actually father than pahrump to henderson...for work etc...and they sure are proud of thier houses out there...bout 80 to 100k for small home and an acre or 2

boy wanna see expensive check out Searchlight NV 300k plus! ouch same with blue diamond.... love Boulder city but is out of our league these days...$$$$ as we can FORGET about getting a home loan...so cash deals only

in Pahrump 23k for this one house...the other 15 we looked at were all 29k-37 k acre with 1200 sq ft home (manufactured) lots of fannie mae freddie hud stuff....low ball them and poss score a nice deal....they all need improvments etc...but if we could score one for CASH then NOT have a house payment...then it would be alot more feasable...NO HOUSE PAYMENT...no water pmnt, no sewer....just power/insurance/food/gas/$85 a month in land taxes...besides...dont have to live there forever...just as long as we want to....can always sell a decent property once we improve it...long as we dont price it high...make it affordable and nice.

I would rather live closer to the Lake and town too...but atleast Pahrump has home depot/walmart/restaurants/casinos/fast food etc......

for work...eh....we have alot of family in town so could spend the night for early jobs at convention halls...etc ....or late night gigs.... same with boating....come out early....spend the night in Vegas if we come out of the lake after 8pm etc ...come back next day.... depending on the job itself...we would only have to come to vegas to work anywhere from 4-5 times a month to once a month (if it were a good job)

yeah it would be a long haul...Im sure we would go to the lake 1/2 as much probably....but we would prob stay overnight and sleep ini the boat/beach/cuddy more often....so who knows....

I hope he comes over to I-boats I would love to see him restore that hull. I may break down and look at the one you sent me this weekend...but I should really focus on getting Max up and running again! I'm here now. Sorry it took so long. The boat is progressing pretty well. I started a post here and tried to bring everyone up to speed with what I have done so far. I'll be sure to keep the thread here updated.

Hey you guys are gonna LOVE this....64x time lapse of me and Miranda spraying the sealer/base coat and clear on the side of the newman boat... 5 hours down to 2 1/2 minutes! came out pretty cool! Im liking the time-lapse thing!

figure alot of people arent suscribed to my Newman boat thread so thouoght Id post this cool video here tooo

worst part is we still have about 4 hours or so of sanding the upper hull where the orange is going, plus the other 1/2 side of teh boat needs ot be sanded and painted too...figure another 10 hours of painting time...uuuhg

dang stuffs PRICEY too...and we need more of the Catalyst unfortunetly...
