GM good idea....never occurred to me to contact Mercury to see if they did make a fuel gauge. This is a mercury instrument panel, I thought it was interesting that they used to supply them.

Thanks for the info GA....I'm not even going to ponder why they need a vacuum gauge....as soon as you said stringer, I started getting hives!

Baja, I think Wylie Cyotee uses that guage....

Thanks for the lead Kilo, that is pretty cool!

So tonight we got the 6 banger in!

Its a little dusty, but fit snug as a bug! I was happy to see the forward engine mount lined up nicely with the seacast block I built in the hull. Tomorrow night Fuggly goes back to the other shop. I'm going to try to take advantage of the warm weather this weekend and get the glass work done in front of the forward bulk head.

I had a 6 in my Cobia Centaur. I have a few gauges from it, don't know why, I sold it 16 years ago. I'll let you know what I have. On mine, t/t and fuel were not in the cluster.

Attaboy! Funny you say that Arch, because you don't know how many times I rechecked and measured where to glass in my front mount. I was super relieved to have confirmation, and see everything line up after dropping the sucker in place! She looks mighty proud at home in her rightful place!

Kilo, I'm not so sure the drive would like that blower....lol! I might also have a hard time convincing the lake patrol that its only 165 HP :D

Woe, I just measured how much longer the block was and moved the mount location forward that much...makes perfect since, so there is a great chance that I was wrong lol. But it did work out this time! :D

Arch, some times it is better to be lucky then good. But I think you nail both! :thumb:

So I got going this morning on the area in front of the forward bulkhead.....sanded things down, cleaned up,. cut out some glass and got all ready to go..........................hmmm this resin shouldn't be lumpy.......... so I ordered more resin and moved on to other things. Mainly stripping the hull above the rub rail. That was a bit of a chore, but came out nicely. I straitened out most of he rub rail after removing the insert......hope I can find a new one, because that one is about as plyable as 30 day old concrete! I also need to find new windshield gaskets.....and a chrome planter. Think I wan't to redo a few of the things I took off. If you have any suggestions on vendors, please let me know. Here is fuggyl without her makeup!

lots of parts

Wefco for windshield rubber, perhaps the rubrail insert too.

I have used Philip at http://www.superfineshine.com/index.html
For rechroming.

Gave me a range of 4 prices for the work, based on prep and final polishing.

Unless you really did mean a chrome planter, then I have no idea where to find one

I think w some shorter stanchions and some tweaks to its fitment, the bow rail could look better then it did before you removed it. W out it, as a 'bow rider', even a limited functionality bow rider, it looks like it is missing it to me.

I agree ... Maybe just a lower profile ... But with a name like Fuggly ... :noidea: Some sort of Ohhh Carp handle for sure .. :D

You guys are really going to freak out when I chop the top :D

Why? A chopped top needs fuzzy dice and an 8 ball on the remote or it just doesn't work. Add some hydraulics to the trailer and make a lowrider. Works for me.

I was thinking some kind of funky high speed ballast tanks instead of hydraulics GA....sort of make the Fuggly hop around, lol!

I did some measuring tonight and ordered a new rub rail insert from I-boats. Looks like it is going to take 50' if you can believe that....that might even be a little short. Hope it is enough at $50 a roll.

I also think I have a window rubber located that will work. The old ones are in really bad shape. I emailed the vendor to verify a couple of dimensions. If they check out I will get 30' of that on order.

I need to pick up some sanding supplies and some Duraglass this week so I can get started on preping the upper half for paint. I'm going to try to pick that stuff up at lunch tomorrow.

Yep I needed 52 ft for the MFG .
That's the reason I installed the black rope for a rub rail .. Looks great for a fraction of the cost ..

I absolutely know what you're talking about with the cost of rub rail insert. I think they make that stuff with Gold inside to cost as much as it does. I will say, if you bought 50 feet of it for $50 dollars, you did good. I've seen it run twice that easily.

I'm finding that windshield seals are about the same price! Thinks I have finally found the correct one, but had to ask the vendor to verify the actual size. That looks like another $60. But the old ones are really cruddy looking and pretty much wore out.
