if its rated for 100hp why put 115?

1978 Imperial trihull 15.7? i have the exact same boat, except it is pretty much trash and sitting in the woods. transom is probabily the worst anyone has ever seen, rotted foam and wood, and it filled with rainwater and a few trailer rollers punched thru the hull. :(

MBS.......CURE........

step one.....stand aprox i.5 feet from a brick wall.....place hands slightly wider than shoulders......

smash head against the wall till head is bleeding......

step...two......take grinder and start grinding any fiberglass strand surface while focousing the waist glass toward your body....do not use any safety clothing....bare arms and legs are necessary.

step three........empty wallett into hole in out house.

repeat steps one and two three, four times.

this will train your brain that mbs is curable...but will take some
time and re-hab !......:D

yep...

got any pictures of the ole hulley?

we got it for free 8 years ago, it sat in the guys woods for 9 years.. there was a tree growing in it. couldent even step foot in it without going through the deck. we restored it, got the old merc 70 running, took it to the mechanic for a water pump, and he told us the transom was shot. he lent us a transom saver to get it home because he knew it wouldent make it home. we sold the motor and gave up on it.

Being on iboats for awhile is kindof inspiring me to restore it :D

Re: pic of work so far

were you able to talk with the owner to see if the boat motor was running well with compression tests bud?

if not ...at least you can see the trailer for tha amount of money that you spent on the deal.....

any running big ol merc is worth well that price bud......;)

now....the big question....are you gonna fix the boat and get another motor and sell the whole package?..(wich you alluded to)....or are ya gonna just sell the trailer.....give the hull away....and go fishin with your new motor?

congrats johnny.......fishin might be in yout itennerary this weekend !:D :D :D

I also did a quick search on the net and its a racing boat !! there some pics where theres two outboards on one and looks like it flying !! what do you think . how much trouble would I get in to with a 125 on the back of my glastron ???she is only rated for a 100 . I would love to see what she would do with that 125 on her !!! John

Re: pic of work so far

I would definitley restore it if i had a motor.. it is a classic boat with a sound hull. I might restore it over the winter, my garage is heated and i will have nothing better to do. (Minus driving in snow :])

John I would run that 125 and not think twice about it . I would bet the weight is pretty much the same as the 100 and if your worried about the grouper trooper commin after you just get a set of 100 decals for her and turn her into a 100 ;):D.

Do you have a picture of the new toy?

I agree with what everyone else...you would be fine with the 125.

Re: pic of work so far

Many times, the only difference in the HP ratings is the size of carbs and reed valves used. Weight would be the only factor you'd need to worry about with your boat John, the HP isn't the factor....we know your transom can handle it!:D
