Man not having a very good day for working on her , went out there and the heater had shut off , was thinking had some bad kerosene so went and got some fresh stuff , dumped the old out and add the fresh , still shut off , well when the wife left for work she said the sink was leaking so new washers in the head of it and thats fixed..

I wanted to get some heat going out in there so i got a double 500 watt work light and a single one , well one side of the double wasnt working , tore that apart cut out the switch and its working now !!

went and tied the heater again and its kicking out smoke , so going to see if i cant clean the nozzle !! all ready changed the the spark plug on it here a few weeks ago , thought i had this licked , seams not !!

Well tore it to where i could get to the nozzel , took the air nozzel to it and hit it with 125psi , did that a few times , then went and looked at the keroseen that i dumped in a bucket and there was a filter in on the bottom , didnt try to see if i could get the hose to put it back on , but did fire it up and it started right up and ran like a champ.... man i love heat !!! lol got the garage up to 65 in 15 mins, it was about 38 to 40 out there just with the light , 21 out side

then the wife got home and said you didnt get the new mail box up ??? @#&*$#&^^#&*** lol so that is up now and still didnt get to the boat !! so there is allways next week !!!! John

I've got a nice big ol kerosene torpedo ( the one with the handle and wheels ) from my dad this summer. Have no idea if it works or not. With 5 gallons of K going for what, $50...I'm not in any hurry to check to see if it works since I don't have a space that needs to be heated up yet. I think I will take it apart and get it good and cleaned up though...sounds like that would be a smart thing to do.

Of course, there's the big snowblower which I still haven't gotten to yet either. Need to pull the carb off again and check the float level and pin...it leaks like a sieve.

hay Mike , its only 2.89 a gal here !!!! yea all most 50 bucks !!! hahaha I got it used off ebay last year its only a 55,000 btu works great in my one and a quater car garage !! lol
Hay i got a big snow blower also got off of my dad , havent had to pull it out eather , I also got three other snow blowers walking around here that can get there butts out there and shovel !!! if we really get a lot will pull it out !!

Hi all , well its my Friday so tomorrow I am hitting her hard , and tomorrow is a great day here , supposed to get 2 to 4 tonight and and a low of -6 !!! Man I am SO READY for spring !!JJJJJJJJohn

Actually, I was doing my bedroom. It's all done for all intents and purposes, the bathroom aspect of it is next, but that is on indefinite hold until funds reappear for it. I have to cut concrete and have a plumber in to do the "rough in" as I do not trust myself with such a critical aspect of home construction. I'll happily repair the concrete, that's the easy part.

Right now, I'm working on getting the house back to normal. I'm so frickin' lazy....my Christmas tree is still up! My ability to self motivate is set to about "2" on a scale of 10.

Hi all , man I cant lift my arms !!!! Man this sanding stinks !!!!! lol I got out there about 11:00 [ mom and dad stooped bye before they left for Florida] so got out there and man sanded and sanded some more !

I got about a good 5 hours sanding and got about 1/8 of her sanded !! and at this rate I was thinking how long its going to take to get to painting , and i came up with about 40 hours to get there !! and if i get 10 hours of good work on her a week !! that going to put me at the middle of Feb,

Then to get her painted , what a good 15 to 20 hours , with 3 coats and then one clear coat to put on, and the sticker under the last clear coat. When I put the clear coat on , I was thinking should i clear coat the hole thing or can i just clear the side and the top ?????

OK so that is going to be at least the beginning of march, and then a month to let her dry thats April !!!!! IN THE WATER !!!!!! I HOPE !!!! LOL

OK so thats my time line i was thinking !!! so if it goes the way the stringer and the transom went that is going to be July !!! hahahaha John man my arms are barking at me !!!!

So, in other words, it'll be ready by May or June sometime, right?

Cold? Well, the high today was -6F. Woke up to -20 and it got colder before it got warmer! Let the truck sit and warm up for 25minutes before I left for work, and it still hadn't warmed up the cab! Took me an hour to get to work today because every intersection had ice on the other side ( thankfully not where everyone stopped at! But, taking off and getting going was a chore each time we stopped, and that was often! ). My normal commute takes 25-30minutes, and this is the worst it's ever been. I ended up working until 6:45PM and thought I had put in a real nice long day it, but then I remembered that I got in an hour late! Got home at 7:30. I got the Christmas tree down though! The wife got the decorations off today and I took the lights and dismantled the tree ( 3 pieces! ), put it away , and wouldn't you know it, I still have needles to vacuum up! Stupid realistic fake tree!

Yep Its colds out there , we sent a record here last night of
-19, and when it gets that cold salt dont work on the roads !! It only -3 out there now some clouds moved it and warmed us up a bit !!

when mom and dad left yesterday , I told them to take this weather with them !! lol well it looks like they are all the way down to to Alanta is in the teens !!! hahaha serves them right for leaving me here !! hahaha

How cold is it down there TD ?? John

Hi all , well it was another great day covered in gel-coat !! lol Man did I say june , lol I got about 4 hours good grinding done on her, there are 6 bad spots on the boat , the transom , the splash well , the helm , the keel, and the bow top side , and there is about a foot on the starboard side where the window mounts .

Well on just the top, I got just about 50% of it ground down to where i can get ,{ I hope ] My last coating of marine tex on and then the final sanding !!

I got in the last two days the helm just about ready and the splash well , and the port side on the top,from the helm to the splash well !!!

When i was cleaning the dust off tonight i found a couple spots that had that have some waves in the gel-coat that i have to hit again .but other then that I am really please with it , the corners are really a pain to get rounded, and straight !!

With the helm and the slash well and the spot on the starboard side all most ready for marie tex , the worst parts are all most ready , the transom just getting it flat , from where the old bolts sunk in the gel coat .

Next time dont let me buy a boat with all them holes in her !! lol

I will get some pics up tomorrow !! or the next !! lol man my arms are feeling it !!John

hey john isn't living in this frozen tundra we call michigan fun lol. just think 6 more months and we will be out cruising on burt lake together lol, dang that makes it seem like it is furter away than it is lol

yea it sure does !!! it hit a record low of -17 here last night !!! I want to go see my mommy !! lol there in new port richie, [ just above tampa ] she said supposed to be 65 there !! John

That's all?! I woke up to -26F this morning. It's really not all that bad though since the wind hasn't been too horrible this last week, though I saw that the southern part of the state was hitting in the low -50's with the windchill

Well all , It started out good had the heater going in the garage and the phone rang , work wanting me to come in , so cant turn down the over time. went in for 4 hours came home and and kicked the heater on again .

Well I got about 4 hours out on her today , And you know what , " I am cooking with gas " I got the air grinder out and man it really takes it off, the only thing is my big tank isn't working, a 220, 20 gal, tank its plugged in the valve, so i got my pancake tank out , run the heck out of it !! it would run out of air after about 5 mins, so went back to the palm sander till it filled up !!

I also picked up some more 6 inch 320 grit sticky pads didnt like them to well , on the foam pad , they will work when i get to the bottom half, theres not so much to take off !!

I did learn one thing through all this grinding , with the marine-tex . you only got to put it on very light just fill the hole.

I did find a couple more spiders that i got ground out also !! man is it ever going to end !! lol

I know i said i will get some pics up , I will tomorrow , wish you guys could really see how smooth she is turning out !!

I might even get to the bow tomorrow !!! I hope !!lol John
