Alright Kev, it's time for a recap. What exactly do you have left to do on this boat to get her in the water? Judging my the pics it can't be much. I think it's time someone started cracking the whip :p

Great looking boat, Kev -- makes me miss the Starcraft my step-father just got rid of. Same model as yours but moss green. Loved the sound of that well-worn Merc motor tick-tickin away at idle and humming along at cruise. Lots of character! Good luck. Loved the lines and that big picture-widow of a windshield too!

Sadly No..May have some time to tomorrow to get some more work done...

Most important thing is the cables and I need to get them still and go through the procedure of getting em installed correctly..I hear it's a bear..

Re: my 68 Starcraft Holiday project

So I'm getting the port side painted today..I get 2 or 3 thin coats on her then BAM...what is that hitting my head...what? Rain????

Son of a *****!

Hopefully the thin coats got enough curing time so I don't have a whitewashed driveway...

Gonna drag it up to NB's boat-el since he's away and paint her there! lol
He'll never know I was there! :D

love the paint, Kev. Those cables really aren't that bad. Are you going under the gunnel or the floor?

Thanks Matt..under the gunnel....I just see so many post on adjusting the cables, bad shifting issues, that I was half tempted to take her in and actually (gulp) pay to have this done....But I will give it a go with my manual and my half a brain cell I have....You stopped fishing long enough to work on yours? lol

Re: my 68 Starcraft Holiday project

Good luck with the cables, Kev. I wonder if there's a difference in adjusting cables for i/o vs. outboard. Mine seemed pretty easy - but I did only have to fuss with one end - the cables were already attached to the johnson control box when I got the motor.

As far as fishing vs. resto - I'm having some outboard issues - plus a few kinks with my floor coming unbuttoned. workin' through 'em.

Took the tape off..Have a "nick" to cover on the bow..
Had some extra white paint so I just started rolling on the stern since it was cleaned and ready..

Need to back her off a foot so I can paint behind the bow stop on the trailer..I'll hit that and finish the stern properly tomorrow.

Re: my 68 Starcraft Holiday project

Ugly day..rain threatening all day..decided to get a couple things touched up that I could do in the garage..
Painted the starboard panel finally...decided it was a "shelf" on the sawhorses far too long.....

Did the control box as well...Not perfect but she'll do..
