Re: MFG rebuild getting started pics

Hey I just looked thru the pix again & why is the splashwell a different color:

And for $4800, you'd think they might have attempted to use a better color vinyl for the seats:

Is that ^^^ teal (or green?) vinyl in a bright blue boat? Not that I'm a huge fan of everything matchy matchy, but that color doesn't come close to fitting in.....

SP: You're right about the wheel... I think evil-bay has 1 up now. Seller is VERY PROUD of it though :faint2:

Hmmm I was so caught up with the the little things like the shinny dash rail I did not notice the splash color difference . Those look like original Fun N Sun seats so I,m guessing the green was original color ..
Now you will have to excuse me but I gotta go check out Evil-B !!

I take it that the U-shaped bars, on the hinges, on the backs are what they used to support the seat backs when in the "lounger" position?

Gangsta Whitewalls ? :spy:
I was thinking just nice clean shiny blackwalls . Give it the race car look .. Raised white letters maybe ? Blocks of course not outlines ..
Still wondering if I should go biased or radial ..

Re: MFG rebuild getting started pics

Thanks Decker !
Guys I would rather grind fiberglass than shine aluminum !LOL! I have just been doing odds and ends on the boat here lately . Installing some deck hardware , finished installing all of the gunnel storage racks , and rubbing and rubbing and rubbing allum trim ..Also got 2 new tires installed on my salvage yard rims . :)
Took a break today and visited the Alligator Farm down in St Augustine . We chose to view the place from the trees .
Is this a bird ,a plane ? Nope just a flying SP trying not to hurt himself or anyone else ! click pic

This was a blast ! We zipped, climbed, and hung around a 2 hr path thru the trees and over the alligators ..
If any of you guys ever visit St Aug make sure ya bring the kids to the farm .. I know they will have a blast !
OK funs over I gotta go rub some more trim .. :pout::sad:

Sounds like you had a blast..
If you have any pics of the gators, post them up..
What are you using to polish the aluminum with?
Have a ton of aluminum rails on my tank..

Re: MFG rebuild getting started pics

Got plenty gator pics but I have not posted to PB yet . Trying to save my free space . :croc::eyebrows:
As for the aluminum basically trying anything and everything ..Multi grit sanding then Mothers . I have had some success but mostly just sore arms . Maybe we should start a thread on the subject and see what idea,s the crew have . I know it,s been discussed around the forum . I was hoping not to have to order a bunch of high priced stuff online maybe someone has some home recipes ..
