Thanks guy looks like that tub already sold ..
OK , here is the bunk placement . This may or may not change as it was recommended to place them under the stringers . { thanks Gus ! }
I will have to research where they are seeing as I did not have to replace them .. They are made kinda V shaped from the factory .

Wow. They look awesome. But then again, I couldn't imagine your work any other way. That will hold her on the trailer for sure.

I don't think you will have to worry about where the bunks are located. The weight of the hull will distribute across the bunks. And with four bunks, I think you have no worries about anything. My only concern was that the boat may have a tendency to slide off the bunks should your strap let loose a bit. I think you good to go for sure. I am however, curious about that MFG ad you linked to. I wonder what they mean by polyester mortar...Peanut butter perhaps??

Unless I'm mistaken, this ad has your boat's pix: Chocks from MFG
.
Hey I resemble that boat bow !!

I was thinking if I keep the bunks close to the keel that would keep it from sliding around some . It does slide pretty easily on the bunks ..
I think they meant to say polyester " filler " .. :D

I think you have got a perfectly solid foundation for your MFG to ride on...looks good...:encouragement:
Hey did I notice a nice beveled edge treatment on those bunks?...
Getting OH so close...

Oh and BTW, well placed bunks seem to allow the boat to slide around...that tells me that the weight is evenly distributed and that's what the straps and tie downs are for anyway...just a very UN-scientific observation...

Looks very good SP.. If you are worried about the boat sliding off the trailer when traveling (like TC is saying) put a safety chain between the bow eye and the winch post.. and strap the transom down on port and starboard side.. Everythig looks great..:whoo:

Re: MFG rebuild getting started pics

Thanks guys !
Well here it is ... I know most of you guys prolly have some form of this .... Shoe box , jar , ect ..
DSC01161_zpsd9c01aa0.jpg

I promised myself to not tally everything up till after splash day .. Had to dig in to find a receipt for some led trailer lights I bought about a year ago .. Seems the set I got are not for marine use but it said on the front of the package ideal for boat trailers ! I guess boat trailers that never get used .. Hopefully H/F will make this right ..
Have a great weekend everyone !!

I wish I could fit all my receipts in a small jar like yours..:D The Admiral keeps all my receipts.. Says I have a $10,000.00 boat that's only worth $1,000.00...:hororr:

Hope HF takes good care of you.. Have a great Easter..

I quit saving receipts quite a while ago. once decided the cost was far out weighing the $ value

I've long since decided the emotional value far out weighs whatever the actual cost is.

Have a great weekend!

Yep ^^^

I like the color you chose better, the changes at the transom are fantastic. That 1 doesn't have custom seat base storage. Yours is much better looking. IMHO

Besides that ones deck is probably got a soft spot somewhere anyways.......

Thanks guys that sure means a lot ! Ya know these restorations would not be anywhere near as fun without all you guys cheering on successes and helping out with issues and failures ..
Btw I,d sure like to have about 4 or 5 things on that 65 mfg starting with the steering wheel ! :eyebrows:

I just saw this mental lapse you had...typical male emotion...always looking at the girl next door...not realizing that you have the girl that everyone else is drooling over...;)
BTW, if you come across a steering wheel you want, yet it is in really rough shape...let me know, it can be restored to better than new, in most cases...
