Sure does look right purdy settin on its new ride!

Awesome milestone...I remember that feeling all too well...:thumb:

The hamster came up with an idea, could you just make a couple of wedge shaped wood spacers and place them between the front of the bunks and the risers, kind of like a big shim...then just glue and screw them to the bunks...?

Have an awesome week!

Re: MFG rebuild getting started pics

First of all, congrats on the trailer. It looks great and the boat looks great on it. I am however curious about one thing and hope I can add my 2 cents worth. Oh, wait a minute, we don't have pennies in Canada anymore. Then my 5 cents worth. I'm thinking that the bunks may be placed a bit more inboard than what they are. Or if you add guides on the side that would make trailering it easier. Especially on windy days. I feel, and this is only my thingy, that if you load your boat on a windy day or even trailering it, that it may slide of the bunks and end up scratched or marred or worse. I hope this isn't butting in, I promise I am not. Again, my nickels worth.

Re: MFG rebuild getting started pics

TC I am completely with you on the bunks . I think my plan will be to install 2 more bunks closer to the keel and look around for some guides . I hope I can find a set that will be at about the height of the lower rub rail . I wish I could install keel rollers but they would not work with the lower rear and middle cross supports . I did find a set of longer bunk post to use to jack the front of the bunks up higher . In all my haste to put the boat on the trailer I forgot that I need to weigh the trailer to get a tag for it . Oh well I will get it all set up and then slide the boat back off to weigh it .. The lift ring at the bow sure came in handy .:)

Yeh it does look a bit long . We'll see what it looks like after the winch post . I could always cut it down some ..

I think I may haved solved the problem with the longer bunk post I found ..

Hey S.P. - I enjoyed the videos... I like your idea for adjusting the bunks with the guides/side rails..

The trailer turned out great.

Nice to see the boat on it's ride SP! Can't wait to see how the bunk idea works out. I was thinking the tongue was pretty long myself before I noticed the bow stop wasn't mounted yet. I really think that will help make it look more balanced.

Have a good week man!

Re: MFG rebuild getting started pics

Welp I can officially start referring to Chris as my sil instead of fsil .. Everything went well . Had around 100 or so show up .
L to R Chris , Tiffany , Me , Lynn, son Ryan .

Gunna reuse the lattice fence to around the pool to keep our stupid dogs from destroying the screen chasing lizards ..
DSC01154_zpsbad041a4.jpg

Not sure who's idea this was but it sure had my anxiety level way up ..

Now it,s time to refocus on the boat and it looks like we are gunna have to do a stringer /transom rehab on sil,s GlassMaster . We may just search for a different hull to put his o/b on . Maybe a small flats skiff or a tinny . We fish in pretty much salt water only ..
Cheers everyone !

Been wanting a boat for the creeks down here . What do you think about this ?
14 foot fiberglass boat
Do you think it would hold a 50 rude ? I,m keeping my eye out for something that will serve the purpose but not break the bank .:laugh:

That 50 Rude might be a bit big for it but the price is certainly right...

Don't know 'bout hanging a 50 on there, tho...if it don't weigh too much and make it tip the bow up in the air just sittin still, it should down right scoot like the dickens...YeeeeHaaaa!!!:eek:nthego::bolt::shocked::scared::D
