Well if the underside is any indication, the topsides will look great when you're done & they're painted to match!

Thats the 1

Besides, if the Admiral won't give you 30min (+/-) you'd just be fidgety, fiddling w/ your smart phone and jones'in for an iboats fix ALL DAY.

30 min (+/-) is just enough to quell the nerves ;) And won't really cut into your anniversary time.

I found my 30min late in the afternoon during the 'getting' ready for dinner hour  while we were at the beach last month.........

Started getting the windshield ready to install . There are still a few scratches but it looks ok ..
The seat bases came in handy in the cleaning process .

These mounting brackets could have been a little longer on the flat part .
DSC00891.jpg

The mounting holes on the windshield are a little high making the gasket bulge around the post .

Not sure how I can fix this other than maybe cutting the rubber around the post to let the gasket lay flat .
Any idea,s ?
I wonder if Jon had the same trouble . Probably not because his was a new windshield and he could drill the holes in the right spot ..

Wow...shiny!
The windshield came out looking great....

kinda hard to tell from the pics...is the bracket coming up perpindicular to the hull? What would it look like if you you cut 1/4" out of the side the bracket is on and leave the other side whole?

You mean cut the gasket right ? I was thinking about that . I would hate to do it but I think it would help ..

Ya, that is the inside edge right? Maybe cut it in the center of bracket, then cut 45 deg angle .....so the first cut could be put back with 5200 or sealer?

I'll have to go draw it up to explain it a little better...on ipad and can't figure out how to from here

You may want to check with the manufacture and see if the make a longer one.

Re: MFG rebuild getting started pics

Thanks Decker ! This is the only size Taylormade makes of this type . I had to go ahead and make it work .

Welp it,s on there .For such a small project it took me most of the day.LOL !
DSC00892.jpg

Still need to polish up the trim and secure it . Hope I can find some of those itty bitty rivets . Or maybe some really small ss screws..
DSC00894.jpg

Insert motor boat sounds here !
DSC00895.jpg

As you can see from the jump seat view . I am going to have to notch the front corners of the front seat bases in to the hull to get the seats to line up properly . Gunna set the HT on this week to test the seat height before I finish the glass work on the bases ..

Hope everyone had a fun / productive week end !
