Thank's CW I appreciate the encouragement! I gotta go back and see how you taped off your green stripe on your thread. Been thinking about stripes..

Well today I put another coat on everything it didn't go quite as well as the first . Little problem with the hvlp but Wood's helping me out with it . We'll get it worked out.
So I started mixing the color paint I still need to go darker but it's getting close. I'll work on it some tomorrow..
I started with this..

Put the 3rd coat of primer on the top cap this evening . Thanks to WOG for steering me straight on the hvlp. After completely disassembling ,cleaning , and putting back together it worked fine with no problems. Thanks Wood !! I do need to pic up some more of the disposable moisture filters it sure seems with the heat and humidity the compressor generates more moisture !
Gunna try and get my paint formula figured out tomorrow but I have to cut the lawn first.
See ya !:)

Good work SP,
I can't believe how well that painting came out, I'm coming to you when I get that that stage with the bayliner.

I think you're gettin close on the paint color. Just keep track of the measurements and you'll get there. Glad the gun started working for you. I tear mine down 100% totally after every job. I know it's prolly over kill but that way I KNOW it's just like it came from the factory the next time I'm ready to shoot. I replace the H20 filter every time I shoot as well. I use the $3.00 cheap ones from HF and they work well for " 1 Job" shoots. I drain the compressor everytime too! Doing all that I STILL had a water problem when I shot the BF and I almost had a Coniption Fit when I saw the water droplets on my Bow!!!!!! Turned out it was a bad hose fitting and not a filter issue or a gun issue though.

S.P. - The stern splashwell/seating combo turned out absolutely incredible... It looks like it was popped out of mold.... Just awesome...

Pmc,
Thanks I just hope the paint and seats turn out just as well..

Wood ,
Been adding a level TSP at a time and keeping track . It sure is taking a while. Here is what I got so far.

I'm thinking it needs a good bit more blue ..
Almost like I need another color added..

Yep, you are WAY off on the green. Try this use a 1/4 cup of white and then add a tablespoon of blue NO GREEN. Add more blue till you get close to the shade of baby blue like mine and then add 1/2 teaspoons of green to get a bit of aquamarine in it.

I'll give that a shot tomorrow . I had started with a cup of white . I think that was way to much for as dark as the color is.

Re: MFG rebuild getting started pics

My son suggested that I paint the inside lap strake hull a few shades lighter but the same color of the top cap. That would give some contrast to it. The allum rail had white and black textured tape on it but I think I willpaint it instead of the tape.

Re: MFG rebuild getting started pics

If you ask me, I'd say #5 is Spot On. #6 has some glare on it so hard to tell. What's the final formula???

Re: MFG rebuild getting started pics

1/4 cup or 4 tbs - white
4-1/2 tbs - blue
1-3/4 tbs - green ( 11 ---- 1/2 tsp)

It's hard to get a shot without the glare I will take it out in the sun and check it out tomorrow.
