OK ^^^OK ^^^^OK I'll let it go!!

Does possible donor boat count as MBS ??
A friend at work has this bass boat with a 75 mariner . motor last ran 2 years ago then got set up. He is getting a friend mechanic to check the motor out . He said if he gits it up and running again he would take 400 for it. Was thinking put motor on MFG and restore the the bass boat to use in the creeks.

Re: MFG rebuild getting started pics

Absolutely! I suspect the MFG is rated for a 75hp, add T&T and a fresh once over from a mechanic, & for sure I'd surf through the Mariner forum for info @ 75's. Some of the posts are unflattering about some Mariner motors........

But for a good 75hp, running w/ T&T motor, $400 doesn't sound bad.

MFG is rated at 85. Mariner is sure not my first choice but chrysler isn't either !
My friends neighbor has this for 450 obo and it does run.

The Evinrude would look good on the back of an MFG! And for sure the 4dr sedan as a tow vehicle! Yellow pickups make nice tow rigs too!

I picked up some resin wax today Marpro wax sol . How do you add it to the resin ? It's solid wax. Do you heat it with a heat gun or something?

Hey sp .... when I ordered wax from uscomposites it was in liquid form and you just added the proper amount. It was kind of thick like the resin.

An excellent candidate for MBS...yep, go for it...

Looks like a fresh water only engine and if it's got good compression and runs nice, I think it's a good deal...

I would fish in tournaments, too...with a rig like that...sweet!

Brutha, you live in a better boatlandia than I do, there are some really good deals in your neck of the woods...

Have fun searching...hope you score the perfect engine and line up the next restoration...

That Evinrude is right around the electric shift time period. You'd want to make sure it was a '73 or newer, otherwise pass.

Maybe I should go into the pole barn business & give you guys an iBoater discount. GT's got you all the way to boat #3 & 2 additional road vehicles too. You need a pole barn! MBS strikes again....

That's the logo ! I think the lettering is red on some.I wonder how long they would last? Thanks for the link this may be a good option if the painting stencil idea don't work out. The site said could make about any size or color combination .

I put last hopefully layer of csm on the outside of transom today. A little grinding on a few bad spots and will do some fairing with the 3m bondo glass filler and hopefully get some primer on soon.;)

These logos should be like most of the truck lettering you see (similar to whole vehicle wraps) that isn't actually paint. It's been 2.5yrs for 2-tone blue lettering on a parked outside 24/7 white van, and only minor cracking, just like most original boat logos:rolleyes:

The transom & keel looking good!

Hey, fishing, there's a thought! Enjoy the new seat!

Re: MFG rebuild getting started pics

Took a break from sanding the hull for a little while today. Here's where we usually put in at, about 3 min from the house.
DSC00268.jpg

FSIL had to try out the pedestal seat I installed yesterday.
DSC00265.jpg

We caught about 30 little yellow tails, 2 undersized yellow mouth trout , and this undersized drum Chris snagged right before we headed in.
DSC00267.jpg

Didn't keep anything but it was a good time!
Hope everyone had a great weekend!!!
