Re: MFG rebuild getting started pics

Thanks GT!!

Ezm,
I was thinking it was a little low. Gunna add a layer or two of glass on top so that may help some.
It,s my understanding that you want the cavitation plate about even with the hull bottom, or is it the keel? I think i,m kinda in between ..

Ya know the orig motor an the boat was a 55 Homelight 4 stroke. My oldest brother traded his wifes old Chevy Vega for it when he was stationed in Ft Walton Beach..

Just tell her: Its for spare parts dear.

Flowers often soften the knee jerk reaction to want to throttle you:eek:

If it was like a fast food or beer run to the corner: You buy & I'll fly, but I don't know that I'd save that much on shipping my US Comp order. And I think they can't do retail direct pickup.

Those hard tops are really hard to find , my other brother almost crushed the H/T under a dock once. I think he sunk it 2 or 3 times. Lets just say it was the 80's! :D

I THINK it's the keel but I could be wrong. You have that interesting keel that starts a couple inches forward so I'm not sure what, if any, effect that has. And it's even with to about an inch above.

Good job on the flip sp ...... that hull doesn't look bad at all. I think I have seen that design before.

You know, I find it funny but none of use ever seem to video the "flip", lol I think it's always hairy during a flip. My next flip after painting the hull scares the carp outa me. You still got the lead S.P. but we're trying like heck to keep up, lol.

Have a great weekend man!

Jbc.
Thanks, hope the rain don't mess up your weekend !

Troop.
Gotta do some editing then I,ll get it posted. Where's Earnest Borgnine when you need him!

Jon.
Man it sure seems bigger an taller upside down! I like the first pic with the lap lines running up to the bow.

Craig.
I think most of the time no one's there to run a camera . It,s all hands on deck !

Re: MFG rebuild getting started pics

I got the cap all PB,ed in . I wanted to seal it up so when I wash it the cap does'nt fill up with water.
DSC00222.jpg

DSC00221.jpg

I had to re-adjust my cart forward because of it being bow heavy . Had to shim the bow up so the cap would'nt hit the cart.
DSC00220.jpg

Here is a top and side view . Gunna give it a good scrubbing and then start gittin her ready for paint.
I do apologize for the unbelievably nice weather!

Thanks sp ..... it's snowing here. Did you grind out all of that old plaster looking stuff from under the cap before you used the PB? I need to do that to mine.

I ground out just the the part loosened up for the transom. The rest I just wire brushed real good and wiped down with acetone .
