Re: MFG rebuild getting started pics

Thanks gentlemen, I appreciate it!
I installed the transom jigs today . I had to adjust the bottom I guess I made it to tight .

so I got out the weapon of choice!
I wanted to make sure the hull was good and level so I got out the rotating level and shimed it up.

Installed the jigs and made some funnels to keep the seacast going in the right direction.

I think I got every thing I just need to find my rubber mallot . Its somewhere in the mess I call my workshop.

Re: MFG rebuild getting started pics

It's more about the pouring & getting the next batch mixed up while compacting what's already been poured. Did you read mick110's traveler thread. That's the last 1 read w/ a seacast transom...

Awful nice of her to help too. Pix, mixing, pouring, any or all!

The seacast people said mix first bucket ,pour, mix 2cnd bucket, pour , wait 2 hours then mix and pour the last bucket. I could even wait till the next day to pour the 3rd pail they said it don,t make a cold joint..

Re: MFG rebuild getting started pics

Hmm, Micks made it sound worse then that...... Is there a blend & wait before pouring each bucket? I seem to remember that too from his thread/vids....

Good to hear, no cold joint is great! Is the 2hr wait to minimize heat? Or to let the first 2 'lifts'/pours kick off some before adding more weight above? Kind of like most cinder block walls are only done up to a certain height per day. Prevents mortar squeeze out down low...

Re: MFG rebuild getting started pics

Poured 2 pails now just waiting for it to heat up then cool down so we can pour the last 2 or 3 gal.
Made a couple of forms for the left overs. Don,t know what i,ll use em for . Maybe some experimentation !:D

My wife would,nt let me use one of her raccoon ceramic molds. I was gonna make a seacast one for jbc.:D
