The MFG looks like something out of a catalog...absolutely GORGEOUS!

Did you run it today with the hardtop?

I have no room to make fun of big bellies...I own two of them......even been compared to Santa's on occasion...

Never mind the belly, we all have one. By the looks of those trunks, I'm just glad that the camera wasn't behind you. ;)

LoL, thanks Sp, no i dont mind at all, though it was more of a fix r up and get it running than a resto but i do plan on restoring a little bit at a time. Hey I was wondering what your max rpm at wide open throttle is on your 90hp, and what pitch prop are you running?

Wow thats flyin!!!, sounds like a good combo, a little close on the rpm though, i think you might be able to step up the pitch to gain a lil more speed, if its like my engine the max rpm is no more than 5500, right now i am at around 4800 at WOT and about 36 mph by gps.
But yea, You really did an outstanding job on her, I watched that video, very cool !!

Re: MFG rebuild getting started pics

The 39 at 5300 was recorded by the guy that installed the motor on his test run . What I have seen with 2 people at wot is just about what you are running . With my speedo around 36/37 at just under 5000 . I have not checked with a GPS yet so not sure if mine is reading correct or not ..

Re: MFG rebuild getting started pics

Welp I drilled some holes in my transom so I guess I.m committed . Or need to be ! Installing swim platform and have a ?
Should I through bolt the angle bracket that supports the outside edge of the platform . All connections through bolted ?

Re: MFG rebuild getting started pics

I personally prefer bolt through...I believe the strength of a nut and washer distributing the load is far greater than any screw that relies solely on a few threads to grip whatever material they are inserted in...plus, with a good application of sealant, you should have zero issues with any water intrusion...
PS- I would also either use Nylok nuts, or lock washers on top of the flat washers and all the hardware should be SS...
My 1/2?:)

Re: MFG rebuild getting started pics

Thanks guys all through bolts it will be .. :)
Now lets say hypothetically someone was to drill a 1/4" hole about a 3/4 of an inch in the wrong place through his brand new transom .
 Aaand it would still work fine where it is but would be much better moved to a more strategic location . Would a complete fill up of 5200 in the 1/4" hole be a good enough means of plugging the hole ?

Isn't this 1 of them new fangled, fancy, all composite, 100% wood-core free transoms? :watermelon:

5200 all the way! ;)

Good signs and progress @accessory add-ons down your way :)
