Re: Love, Necessity and Pride

^^ yep

W/out the time suck computer, he's probably finished the Bassassin & started in on that tinny he had his eye on when last we heard from him:D And now spends his free time floating aimlessly along the intercoastal, drowning some live bait:)

Hope all is well at the GT homestead & in the GT dry dock and that work has been proceeding judiciously in his absence from iBoats

Man, the tinny's get a bad rep, when it's the glass that gives ya the rash. But clearly I'm a man divided. Twice the crazy, & half the smart, no matter what camp your in;)

Wasn't there some talk of some fresh surf & turf coming off the grill? I'll take my lobster tail w/ garlic drawn butter (plus a bib of course) & my grilled critter Mid-rare:eek: no matter the flavor.............. And a frosty libation, please.........

Spoke with Gus on the phone today. He said he's still fighting his computer problem, waiting to receive something else to help him recover it. He did say he is making progress, so when he gets back online, I'm sure he will have a lot of updates.

Sea ya...

Lol, I think it was that he secretly bought the tinny and placed it to close to the house, then when the lightning strike hit the tinny it blew his electronics/comp in the house.

Actually that's not a bad idea.
We are alot of ppl here getting a great company by our GT1K1K and with Paypal we can send some dollars over for this project. I can't afford a fullgrown computer but since we are alot of ppl here missing him we could actually make this happend for a few dollars each. He helps out alot at all the time so what do you say?

Re: Love, Necessity and Pride

I'm Baaaack!!!!
Give me a few to get all these pesky Racoons back in the pen and get my bar tab paid down and I'll post somethin worth reading...

Thanks to all my Iboats buds, thanks for your well-wishes and all of your assistance...Huge thanks to "woodonglass", for working his butt off trying to get me a solution! Thanks don't even come close to how much I appreciate all you have done!!!

My wife is so glad that I am back on iboats, that she actually smiled at me again...I have been goin through withdrawals and have been in a funk, since my 'puter took a dump and I couldn't get back on Iboats...

Fortunately, I found a local computer whiz who has found the problem...it was actually a hardware failure...the memory took a poop...nothing I could have prevented or caused...he is in the process of getting everything back to working order, no information was lost, and I should have my 'puter back in a couple of days...

The worst part is that it is gonna cost boat money to fix...Oh well, cie la vie...

Man, am I glad that's over for now...

Anyhooo...once I figure out this lap-top I'm workin on...(Huge shout out to my SUPER-DUPER neighbor and boat restoration assistant, Gabriel, for lending me this laptop)...I will get a couple of pics up of my limited, but somewhat significant progress...

Later,gt.

Re: Love, Necessity and Pride

Well, I must say that I am humbled by all of your good thoughts guys...Just for that, have another round on me!

I have made some progress, but the weather down here has been wet, wet, and wet, or about to get wet...so not as much as I would have liked has been accomplished...

However, much sanding has been done on the bottom of the hull and some exterior repairs have been completed, there are many more to go, but since I cannot presently upload any pics, this is all heresay, until such time I get my old tower back and can present proof in the way of photography...until such time, you will all just have to take my word for it...

Another bit of good news has recently come my way...my neighbor, Gabriel's Dad, the Marine Captain... is in the process of scoring some "Professional Quality" paint materials and instructions for their application for the not-to-distant future coloration of the "Bassassin", as I post this...WOOOOHOOOO! More information as it becomes available...

And finally, I will be getting caught up with all of your builds just as soon as I can...I hope to return to my usual habit of being on Iboats every free moment I have, so be warned!...:p

Once again, I want to thank all my my Iboats bretheren for your continued support and concern. You guys are the BEST!!!

Best wishes to all,
GT1M

Welcome back. Congrats on pending good news on the paint front...... Have a great week catching up..

Thanks for the extra round, my liver, however, does NOT appreciate it:facepalm:

No need to stop by my joints, no post-worthy progress on any front...

Re: Love, Necessity and Pride

Gus, I kinda feel like I left you in the lurch, but.. I'm glad to hear you found a local guy to gind the solution. It is so hard to troubleshoot hardware issues longdistance. I've had some really tough family issues the past week that I just can't share just yet but it will get better. Trying to stay active on the forum to keep my mind off things. Sure glad to have you back. Let me know if I can help with anything.

Glad to have ya back Gus! Can't wait to see what a lack of iboats does for progress. Though I imagine trying to get back to iboats is just as much of a progress killer.

Re: Love, Necessity and Pride

Been busy getting the 'puter back to some semblance of its original set-up and of course work keeps getting in the way, but...As promised, here are some pics of my progress on the hull bottom...at this time the entire bottom is sanded and waiting for sunshine and time, to get all the needed repairs done in preparation for some color...somewhat boring stuff...but progress none the less...

DSCF1879.jpg

This is a shot of where the PB got spooged from the inside repair, it will get sanded, wallowed out a bit and repaired from this side with a layer of CSM, 1708 and another layer of CSM, then faired...this is but one of several places on the hull where this same operation will happen...either due to yours truly's screw-ups, or scrapes and bruises from previous usage...

Some of the necessary tools and equipment to complete this task...

Scored some serious paint booty from my Captain Neighbor...he is just waiting to get the proper instructions on the correct mixology for the products, but as soon as I have them in my possession, I will post pic-proof...

BTW, I have an inquiry...what exactly is the point of putting so dang much glitter-crap on the BOTTOM of a bass boat...is it supposed to stupefy the fish into believing it is some kind of giant bait fish, blind them into submission, or what??? Anybody???

Now, if only the rain would hold off for the weekend, I might just make some more progress...till then, my amigos...Have a great downhill to the week...
