Well guys, Gus's PC took a POOP on him and I'm in the process of trying to send him the discs and instructions on how to restore it so he doesn't lose all of his pics and files. His neighbor is helping me stayin contact and transfer files etc. Hope to have him Back Online by the weekend. He was downloading a game and of course it crashed his PC. Hopefully the System Restore disc I sent him will turn the tide and get him back up and running.

If his hard drive is intact (occasionally it's the power supply that fries the motherboard) it may be safer to remove the hard drive & use a 'black box' that fits his hard drive:

Then it's a USB plug-in to another computer, access the C drive data & file folder system

Got 99.9% of my old POS 'puter files back when the motherboard gave up. Enough that I can't remember not getting it all back, but the memory isn't what it used to be:facepalm:. POS power supply, which started the failure, was the smallest available that would drive the motherboard, that then had the max spec's of hardware added around it. Classic Worst Buy computer bundling to clear out older models but maxing them out w/ hard drive, RAM & etc...

Wood, you are the man. Not only do you take care of the brothers boat issues you help with his tech problems. Glad to hear Gus is ok. At least with all this extra time not spent on iboats he should make some fantastic progress on that hull

Gus, when you do get back on here and catch up, you are kickin butt and takin names. That glass work is great!

Spoke with Gus today on the phone..he is still having PC issues...

Suggested he try using an Ubuntu LiveCD to see if his PC is working, and only has a bad hard drive...

If that works, he should be able to get online at least...

Gus's PC will not boot from the Win 7 Recovery Disc BSOD very early in the process. No opportunity to get to any recovery tools at all. No Command Prompt to Safe Mode No nuttin. I'm gunna try and find one of my Tekky friends in Miami to take a Personal Look for him. Not gunna be able to do this without a hands on approach. He's gunna be down a bit longer.
