Re: Love, Necessity and Pride

It should also be noted that this is often the 'included' w/ every gallon of resin MEKP, so technically may not be free but they claim it is. No wonder it isn't enough...

So many boats, so little time:facepalm:...

Hope you get some better weather & a phone call soon.

My low pressure cranium can't take another diatribe like the resin/MEKP/catalyzation post above........ The blood now flows freely from my ears, is that a problem?

Ummmm, damn, All I want to know is if you have figured out how many crushed beer cans its going to take to fill that tinny, lol:D:facepalm: By the way, I usually just guess at the hardener ratio and split it up to what amount of resin I have and it has always worked.:p

MAN GT what a post, and math to have to figure out........

hopefully one of the more experienced peeps can give you a better answer. I just went with what OOPs! suggested and the supplier, oops! was easier, and have not had any screwed up batches yet. i use a syringe from Kroger for the kids meds and it worked out that i have MEKP left over after 10 gallons of resin when they sold me enough of both to cover. the supplier said they provide enough for the manufacturers recommendations but a 2% mix was a good ratio. So now i am on the other side that you are, more MEKP and no resin

rain rain go away so GT doesn't hurt our brain again today........

I warned you all...

I actually have not had any problems with my cat ratios...all of my batches have kicked perfectly and as expected...

I was just really bored and frustrated with not being able to work on the boat and that just seemed like a perfectly good waste of time...at the time...

If, I score that tinny, I will make every attempt to mathematically figure out how many crushed beer cans it will take to fill it up...;)...and then post it here......LOL

Have a good week, guys...

Once you get it full of crushed cans you can take them in and use the profit to restore the boat :D It would be like a giant piggy bank of aluminum :p

No need to wait for the tinny to arrive, start the pre-Starcraft aluminum can collection now. That way when you do turn them in, it'll be a "Just add heat" kit for a DIY tinny....:D

Well we all know that any left over fluid left in the cans, (which should be very little) would drain out the rivets no problem. Bahhahahha :0 Sorry for the derail, but you asked for it my GLASSER friend, lol

Only if the hull isn't pour in foam filled, thus clogging the bilge........

I've heard that a pool noodle does double duty fairly well as a single bottle beer bong......

And now back to our catalyzation rates scheduled programming...

Be careful with collecting aluminum cans. My friends and I spent an entire summer in our younger years drinking cheap beer and crushings cans. Planned a big bash for autumn, we would cash in on our collecting. Turns out that only the tops of the cans were aluminum. We ended up with almost enough money to get a case, lol.

When I was in college my roommate was a Budweiser Man!!! He Saved Every can!!! He asked EVERYONE to save their cans as well. WHY?? Not for the money, NO..... He furnished our apartment with em. No kidding he would sit with a soldering gun and solder them together. He made a couch and two chairs and a coffe table and a TV Stand. It was really pretty KOOL!!!

Hmmm.. I just searched the web. Guess he started something back there in the 70's

I won't argue the merits of this statement..... But I'd be remiss if I didn't tell ya GT, 'Live the Dream'.

Had to, gun to my head etc etc etc...

I actually dream of being a classic wooden boat guy, the knock down ply boat just doesn't quite fit that dream. Fortunately, that dream fits nicely w/ my winning the lotto dream:facepalm:

Best of luck to all in getting thru the 2nd to last day of the week..
