Re: hull extension in progress with picks

Think oops! is just tired.

So let me tell you all that happened.

It was a long and awesome night..................

Showed up 7:15 or so. Hull's not flipped, oops! isn't working, and boat's not ready to go yet. Basically, the things that needed to come together, didn't, but oops! can fill in the details.

Talked for a couple of hours (no work done) and was home around 9:30. Chatted with the wife and never thought to pop on here.

Looks like I might miss the show as I've got appliances to put back in my kitchen before I go fishing this weekend.

Re: hull extension in progress with picks

I'm thinking it would be a healthy thing for both of you to cut down on the coffee a little :)

I can't count the number of deadlines for things on my boat I've missed. Entire seasons included. The only surprise for oops is probably that it's not taking longer than it is...

Re: hull extension in progress with picks

sorry guys.......as tackel said....no joy.

weird day/night on the boat.....

the hull flip was scheduled for 5 pm ish......i needed to get my guys to come over to help.....after the hull is flipped it will land directly on my trailer....abd be driven to toucans house where the cap is upside down and will be flipped and put on the boat.......

the guys didnt show......i need 6 or 8 guys to flip the cap.....the hull roll can be done by 2 people....(even one if done correctly).

but i needed the guys to help with the cap....we had all the boats moved and everything ready......

so i just continued on the polishing of the hull......and sanding some of the trouble areas........

then don.....the owner of the boat yard came over....he wanted to chat about girl issues.......as we were chatting.....tackelwasher showed up......then don left and........ "he"........showed up......a few beer later....and some conversation and i went back to more sanding .....another layer of wax......and putzing.....ill have pics posted in a few hours....as i have to go into work for the full day today......but ill close the store by 5 pm....and the guys will be there.....(they said for sure today).....

this whole durn thing can be done in just a few hours....including the float......just need the man power.

sorry i kept you all up so late.......i hope todays a better day ;)

cheers

Nah. Don't need it for what I'm doing. Just need to know your timing so I can plan accordingly. I figure I can run the water line for the fridge to the cupboard, and put the fridge in place then run the lines and hook up the dishwasher, then I will be allowed to go out and watch the antics.

Guess I'm trying to get off at 4:30 or so.

Re: hull extension in progress with picks

well as mentioned......i just putzed last night....gave it another layer of wax...

gellcoatingset8044.jpg

with all the issues ive had with re gellcoating the boat.....its really hard work.....all the fairing.....then the re-gellcoat......

i really must say.......it is a fantastic product.......you can sand it.....repair it....polish it.....paint it.....and on 50 year old boats in the land fill.....after 4 hours of work...the gellcoat could be brought back up to new....and still tough as nails

gellcoatingset8048.jpg

while polishing the boat......the extension cord caught a 5 foot level.....it fell pointy end on the new gellcoat...........not a scratch

gellcoatingset8045.jpg

the other part im dealing with......i used to put my beer on the strakes....it would hold them perfectly....now with the wax.....my beer slides off
