I agree on that one.

Don't know how you do it, mix Coronas with Red Bull? So it sounds like you got the glass on the hull? Final sanding then gell coat? Go out and enjoy the day on your Bayliner.

Have a great day,

Rob.

Oops!
3AM and then back at it at 6AM--holy cow you are driven to finish.
I have been watching your progress all along here for the last several months and it has been a real motivation for me, all be it a bit humbling considering the monumental size of your task compared to most others, I just wish I had a 1/4 of your glassing knowledge.
Great work, keep it going, can hardly wait to see it completed.
But will a boat resto ever be completed?.

Thanks
Lund

who else has done the all night grind on a boat project?!:D I'm doing that tonight, lol, Lookin GOOD oops!! I got my main deck glassed at the seams, now to lay the big sheets down the middle! Are you gonna clear your hull after you paint? I thought I saw a product from interlux that said "gloss clear" have you heard of it?

He's teasing us... building up pages and thread views.

I think he wants to match CB's thread about "sold a boat and it busted" :) :)

Very impressive work as always Oops, looking forward to seeing the shiny results.

I just read that thread, Holly Cow!

If that went through ... I think we ALL would have a case to return our used boats instead of being in the resto forum!

I know I would ... but then again, I'm here because of my own stupidity and I should have looked closer at what I was buying.

MY FAULT! :eek::redface:;)

Re: hull extension in progress with picks

topless waterskiing...????....heh heh heh.....now if i could get my girl to waterski a bit more..........but ill tell ya.....i live in a desert....sometimes it just gets soooo hot here....even swim suits are just too much clothing :D

as john says......lifes short...boat naked ! :)...(just honk the horn fast 5 times if your commin up to the boat)

ok........update..........project stalled...!!!!!! :( :(

after the all night marathon....i thought i had the boat allmost perfect....

the mechanic that rents out another bay here....walks over and says......hey bud...the strakes and the chines are not perfectially in line.....(out as much as 1/2 inch in some minor spots).......aaaaarrrrgggghhhh !

so i went boating on the bayliner for the day....

when rob j was down here we talked about the possibility of getting a professional "eye" on the hull....(before 10 caronas)

monday afternoon....i called dale from svfarah and he came over at 630 pm......well......his eye is a lot finer than mine.......

and he says there is a long way to go....:(

we worked on the chines...and got them straight....now tonight were working on the strakes.......he says there might be as much as 2 weeks work on it.
but well see how far we get tonight......

ill take more pics for you to see......

but im going to go jump off a bridge now.....

cheers

Re: hull extension in progress with picks

Yup :D

Boy have I got to pick your brain, I am about to take on my surprise project due to my lack of knowledge when I purchased my Silverline.

The hardly used, clean and shinny motor clouded my mind and distracted me from really going over it with a fine tooth comb.

But I will be redoing the Stringers, Transom and Deck, so I will have lot's of questions for you in the very near future here. I am trying to learn as much as possible from a few threads but yours in particular as it seems to cover, well, everything so ...

All I can say is ....GREAT STUFF HERE ... Master ;) (bowing down to you)

Just make sure you jump off the floating section!! Sorry to hear that you hit a bump along the road. Just think on the positive side, it is an easy fix at this point....much easier than figuring it out on the water. Afterwards you know it will be done right. At least you have your Bayliner.

Have a great day,

Rob.
