oop's has another project he's working on at the moment, I had a beer with him last week and now he's into building something completely different. I made the mistake of mentioning something he could make "for a profit" and that's what is taking up his time.

I too am jonesing for an update! I am new to iBoats, have a question. I am refreshing a 1971 tri-hull, what seals are used for - rub rail, under windshield, bow and stern bolts? any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Opps is busy watching the relaunch thread over on www.woodenboats.com.It's full of antics about a 40ft yacht being stretched, almost rolling over on first launch, having sponsons added, and now waiting for the relaunch.

You should read through the entire thread,it's full of laughter.

Re: hull extension in progress with picks

hi guys......sorry i been away for so long.....

ondarvr is correct in saying i have a new project going.....we had a beer and dollar signs formed in my eyes...lol....
ondarvr, im just waiting on some test fillers and clear resin from comp one...then its the test batch.

as far as the updates go....well....not much has happened with the boat .....except i finally got a different trailer....wahoo !.....but...uh...well its broken ;)....it was a gift....a tandem trailer at 22 feet....adjustable.....but it is a torsion bar suspension and one of the torsion bars is rusted thru....so ill be fixing that before i paint and transfer that trailer.

still getting materials to do the interior of the big boat......they are coming slowly....

because i have gutted the bayliner !
gonna sell it and i cant do that with a rotted boat...so the bayliner is ripped apart to the hull and foam and im re fitting it.
the bottom of the hull is really rough so i have been on my back on a creeper for the last few days repairing the hull.
last night i cut the deck and i will be installing it in just a few hours...(its first layer of glass is drying)
i would have started a thread....but my camera seems to have gone awol....i looking but i think it may have ran away for good...i dont want to buy another one....that will be number four !...lol

welcome to i boats...
the product used to seal under a wind sheild...is just weather stripping......all you want to do there is keep the frame from ratteling on the hull. for the rub rail and any thru hulls....its sikkins sikkaflex or 3m 4200.

I been watching from the beginning.I hope it does work out but many knowledgeable members thinks it's still to top heavy even with the sponsons.I hope it sails away.
