john.......VACATION HERE !....lol...(bit of a drive)

the foam in the dash was removed by ripping at it. i (think i have those pics here some where....photobucket is getting jammed...lol).....where i couldnt rip it out i poured aceitone on it.

im going to just paint the dash. its either going to be the dark blue or yellow.

in my bilgliner boat the dash is white on the passenger side. and that side of the windsheild is usless because of the reflection/glare of the white gell on the inside of the windsheild!

im going to try to swap a flywheel today with the guys that rebuilt my motor, but now with the larger flywheel i will have starter problems. :(

Re: hull extension in progress with picks

Did you remove the foam before you glassed it, or are you keeping the foam in there for support?

the foam was kept inside for support when glassing, after the glassing was done, the foam was removed and the shapes were placed on the dash, and glassed..(tabbed) in.

then the fairing compound was added. they are so strong you can pound on them with your fists !

Hey Oops, (Don't know if you'll remember me, but howdy anyhow.)

Just popped in for a few updates on glassing. (I was abducted by Martians in Febuary I think )

Got bored and tore out the floor ('81 Citation Caribbean inline four Merc I/O) Motor is rebuilt and purring at 35 mph just fine.
I'm redoing my stringers, runners and floor and redone the interior teak already.

So anyhow...I get to page 3667548930.02 and yer still att'er! Way to hang in there!
When you're done writing that book, I want a signed copy!

Nice going..., bestowing upon you all kinds of good wishes and outcomes for when ya throw it in the chuck to try it out. :D
Just hammer on it when you get it going..., that hull ain't gonna break! (just the thought, hmmpfh!)
It'll be one cool looking smooth and straight shooter, I'm sure.

Take care, regards,
I'll be back,
PH.

That transom thickness was engineered like that so if something unspeakable happens the boat will float transom up and he'll be able to get the engine and drive out first. Hahaha.:D

I'm gonna make it! I'm gonna make it!:p
I wanna videotape this colossal event:D

Thankfully hockey and nice camping weather has slowed you down a little hehe!

Stuck on Kal at 11 pm must have been a fun time! Did you get a tow back to the campsite? Maybe that NoKlu guy is bad luck! Better not talk smack about him until I meet him.....

I am home midweek and will be down to check on progress shortly thereafter!

What is the deal with the cables? When are they supposed to be there? I don't want to see things done out of desperation! If I see Mickey Mouse wearing an Oops watch, you are in some serious trouble:p

We should nickname the boat "Grinding Away" Whadya think?

Cheers,
Yar.

Re: hull extension in progress with picks

glad your gonna be here bud !......:)

i ordered the shift cables from shelter bay a while ago and the still arent here yet..

but im also being slowed down by the fly wheel. my coupler is larger than the small flywheels that i have, so i gotta find a bigger one.....(the coupler will fit the flex plate off the 350 but not the flywheel off the 350 i bought for parts !

as far as being stuck on kal lake.....we got towed in by a kayack !
we went out to help my nephew and his friends.....and they ended up helping us !

last night mrs oops and i were on the big lake, and we broke down again...rob j called (he is staying in westbank with his boat) he was talking to me when we were flating in the wind and waves....lol......he didnt have to rescue us, as it just seems to be a flooding problem. but what a laugh we had talking about coming to tow us back ! lol.

the boat looks about the same as when you last saw it.....just a few more little things done to it.

im looking forward to your visit.....bring sody pops...!...lol
