I want to build that antenna due to a competitor wifi service.<br />The MORONS, IDIOTS, A**.. well you get the picture... put an transmitter up real close to my ISP's transmitter. In the 802.11 service, you just can't have them that close together.<br />Apparently these two Isp's have been at each other's throats for a long time.<br />Anyhow, when they move their channels around, it really messes up my wireless feed, and often kills it completely. This is the best and only high speed option I have (and a good friend owns the ISP) so I have to ride it out. <br />My ISP is working on the problem... we'll see.<br /><br />The wifi band is a no-license band, so basically anybody can do what they want there. Even though my ISP was on that mountain first, there is no 'first-come-first-serve'. I don't know what legal recourse they have if any. <br />The only good new is, my ISP is giving far more than what we're getting. My ISP often kills the other service dead, so maybe the idiots will realize their mistake and back off. Don't know.<br /><br />They recommend I get a 1 watt amp, but the cheapest I've seen even on EBay is $250. Anyone have a good use 2.4 Ghz. wifi amp?<br /><br />I did some research, and found many people making a high gain antenna out of just about anything.<br />You think my C-Band one is strange? Do a search on 802.11 pringles-can antenna! Yes, a 2.4 Ghz. antenna out of a pringles can.<br /><br />I figure why not use that old C-Band dish. <br />It'll be fun trying!<br /><br />H.
