G,Day<br />My more unusual motors include<br />Crescent 8HP- Not running<br />British Anzani about 5HP- Runs OK<br />Villiers about 5HP- many bits missing<br />Evinrude 1/2 HP about 1947 I believe<br />Austral built in Melbourne bits missing<br />Clipper about 3HP air cooled, runs<br />Johnson 75HP stinger, in bits<br />I also have a strange looking sterndrive leg, fabricated from stainless steel but no name tag or markings.<br />Every day motor, Mercury 115HP straight 6, great motor.<br />My father used to own a pair of Perkins outboards, about 25HP, we used to run around Lagos Harbour in Nigeria, I wonder what happened to them.

1976 85hp Johnson V4 - It just keeps going and going and going....<br />1974? Mercury 20hp, needs resto, but would probably run. This was the motor my brother and I had as kids<br /><br />Trying to find a 4-5hp light kicker to mount on my sterndrive boat that has a very tweaked Mercruiser 888 (Ford 302).

Current: 1995 Yamaha 250 Saltwater on a 24ft Seminole Marine/Sailfish 236 WAC. At WOT (5400rpm) this yammie pushes this very heavy boat to 45mph.<br /><br />Weirdest outboard owned moment: Force 90hp. Never did run right and finally had my tech look at it and the motor shipped from the factory without a head gasket. Wonder it ran at all!!!

Well, let's see.<br /><br />67 Merc 650 (65hp) ran great, pulled 2 adults on singles behind a 67 Glaspar 16' boat.<br /><br />69 Merc 1250 (125hp) Ran awesome. Put it on that same Glaspar. Only gained 8 mph, but could walk away from just about anyone from 0 - 35. In 88 I transfered that motor to a 17' Chris Craft. In 94 it sucked a reed valve into #5 cylinder, but kept on running to get me back to camp (25 miles).<br /><br />69 Merc 1250 (125hp) Ran great at first, then developed a problem that after 6 months of trying, the mechanic still couldn't get it running past 2500rpm.<br /><br />76 Merc 1500 (150) put it on in place of the last 1250 and would tear your lips off from a stand still. Gave it to a friend of mine and he traded it for a slower boat. It's still running though.<br /><br />79 Merc 115 Got a 1996 Glastron 16' and placed this motor on it. First time I pulled someone, it actually bent one of the stainless steel hooks of the tow harness.<br /><br />79 Merc 140 upgraded the 79 Merc 115 by placing the 140 powerhead on it, but kept the 115 cowlings as the boat is rated for a 120hp. And here is a picture of the motor.<br /><br />

O.K. I'll try to remember.....- 3.5 Nissan a '96 or '97- First motor I ever bought new.Used to take my Girls in a 10' aluminum down to the slow river.Runs like a Jap top.-15 horse 4 stroke Johnson- 2003.a bit heavy,but matches up nice on the 14' Duranautic.Bought as a left-over for a fair price. -1965 Merc 500-no altenator(stator?) but, electric or manual start. A classic 4 cylinder in-line with magneto and points.Currently (this past summer anyway) on our 16'7" Boston Whaler.(1966)An almost perfect match.Excellent hole-shot, mid-range and top.Definetley under-rated on horsepower!! My favorite!(Prop shaft bent I think.I'll investigate over the winter.) I am going north 300 miles to Maine this saturday to pick-up a '69 100 horse Merc.I finally got a Tower of Power...!!! This should push The Whaler at a good clip I imagine. Ooops!!' I have a '94 9.9 Johnny 2 cycle- nice little smoker,runs like ah,well you know,like a nice little smoker should......

ok, so i sold the 1976 merc 1150 and bought a 1989 merc 90hp instead.<br /><br />also bought a 1999 evinrude 15hp<br />also bought a 1968 evinrude 6hp<br />also bought a 1980 merc 40hp<br /><br />sheesh
