They should have a show called "Boat Builders" since everything else is on tv. They could follow the progress of a couple of boat builds and yours could be one of the first episodes. You are 3/4 of the way there as you can just show some Youtube footage :)

Great work and keep it up.

I think if a network came calling, I would do it all over again.

Jay,

I just want to say "thanks" for providing all of these videos. Had you spent the time that you have taken to produce these videos and used it working on the "Sea Jay" it could probably be splashed already. You are a true inspiration to all of us. Keep up the good work, your boat is looking great. Thanks, Steven

Ok. No one else has asked, so I?ll play devil?s advocate. How do you plan to cut those 2 oval holes in the sides of your boat hull? Holes saws and a jig saw? I'd be a nervous wreck. I asked before about idle and tip location at the water line, but I don't think I communicated my question clearly (it's been known to happen). Do you plan to float it first to verify the water line? Most boats I've seen with side exhaust have the tips just above the water line at idle. Seems you would have to compensate for max load also. Or, do you just install them a standard height above the floor? I?m really interested to see how this is done.

According to corsa there has to be a certain about of "fall" to the exhaust from the manifolds. Usually it ends up about two inches above the water line, and only drops under when you are accelerating. I have pictures of several 220 models sitting in the water and that is what we will use as a reference. I have been thinking of dropping her in the water before making the final cuts. As far as cutting goes, I have an air saw that will make quick work of it.

Here is a Newer 220 with the same exhaust. You can see how the exits are supposed to work.

OH!!!! WOW!!! sounds COOL!!!!! Is that going to be a bit much...sound wise? Or does it mellow out at speed? Also I caught an episode of Ship Shape TV last weekend. They had West Systems with one of the owners giving advice to the host for sealing up wood. They were putting a nice floor in a 16ft Alumacraft tiller. I did like the pumps for measuring product. Seemed to take some guesswork out of it. I was sitting there thinking, your videos and the way you present it was better than theirs!!!!!!!!!! I think Boat Builder, or Boat Restorer TV Would be a great idea. I know I would watch. Hey.....sounds like a second career!!!!!!

Didn't see an item in your checklist for rewiring the console and motor. If anything like mine I have burned wire, broken connector, and ripped off tags on where things connect back up to.
Hope yours is quick to reconnect/rpair. Keep up the good work, almost there.

No, my wire was perfect, which is a huge bonus.

No it gets louder with speed, but when you want t quiet, you flip a switch and the exhaust goes through the drive for a quiet ride.

Re: Here I go again!! 1995 Sea Ray 220 Signature Deck and Stringer Restoration

Guys, I got some horrible news this evening. My Dad called and said that the Doctors have done all they can to save my Mom. Her quality of life is just going to be terrible, and her liver is failing. I am not sure all the details right now, but I know that she might be going home tomorrow or the next day and hospice (sp?) will be taking over to make her comfortable.

I have made piece with this, but it still will not make it very easy. I might be gone for a while, but I will be back.

More news soon.
