Unless I read those 2links wrong jb and jig those are conflicting articles I believe the one from jig states you can foam the tank in. Obviously my original tank was foamed in and it has not leaked tank is stainless I believe not sure if that makes a difference. I am listening to you guys because I respect your opinions and want to do this right the first time just not sure if I took it the right way
Stainless tanks are permitted. However, they are very prone to a condition called crevice corrosion, so ABYC recommends they be 20 gallons or less with domed ends. This minimizes the welds where they are most subject to corrosion. They should be mounted where they will be dry and can be inspected on all sides. Only 316L or 317L stainless should be used. As with all the above, tank regulations are manufacturer requirements.
Yeah, sorry about that.Well jb your just full of good news
I think you'll be alright cutting the lower bow deck back as long as it isn't anymore than 2", but I don't understand why you would want to bring the top bow nose deck back and make it bigger... anything you set on the upper deck will probably go for a swim with no gunwales to stop it. Those little bow nose decks add strength to the nose and are handy for mounting trolling motors, but they are best kept small.
That's what I thoughtI must be explaining wrong Iwant to move the middle foredeck bulkhead 18" toward the bow and the upper foredeck toward the stern so where they meet will be one bulkhead that will go from deck to top of gunwales. hopefully I am explaining it better
That's what I thought you meant.Ok after looking at the boat today I may have explained what I want to do with the fore decks incorrectly. What I would like to do is remove the middle foredeck all together and bring the upper foredeck toward the stern within 18" of where the middle foredeck is currently. This would give me a one bulkhead that is twice as tall as there is now. Hopefully that make sense
