Nope, perfectly acceptable. coating the bottom edge will seal it and the PB will cap it off. I see No way for water to penetrate the wood. You're good to go.

Ok I might wind up with a small 6hp tiller motor would it make sense to put it on this boat for safety if main motor goes out.And is 6hp enough to get you home on a 19' boat

Depends on the conditions. Rough water and head winds...Might be a problem!!! I'd prolly look for a 10-15hp.

Ok if I put a kicker I will have to deal with the issue that these are hollow. Drill over sized holes and fill with pb or drill over sized holes and use spacers. Or any better ideas

OR get some 16lb HIGH density foam from USC to fill those small areas. You can beat that stuff with a Sledge hammer and barely dent it.

Any way you could fabricate a wooden wedge to "Kinda" fit the area and then fill in the rest of the area with PB?? The issue is a thick portion of Resin gets HOT when it "Kicks Off" and that's not a good thing. I don't like to go over 3/4-1" thick with it.

Do not think there would be a way to get wood in there would it help or hurt if I were to do it in multiple pours

What are you going to do w/ the transom skin once you get done w/ put back? Gelcoat? Paint? Nothing?

The newly installed plywood transom is covering the inner surface of the proposed mount locations, correct?

If you have to do any repair work or touchups on the exterior transom, I'd consider cutting the one closest to the center of the boat off. Done in such a way that you could build a plywood wedge to install against the back of the transom plywood, after you wrap it w/ CSM & PB it in place. Then put the removed piece back on.
