the vents on the side tend to collect rainwater because Attwood (who makes most of the low end air boxes) didnt care if the rain entered the bilge

the vents under the aft transom cover are actually better from a water ingress point of view.

the blower is to move air until the engine is fired up. there is a low hose from bottom of bilge to the blower, then a hose to the vent. this will pull all the fuel fumes that have settled to the bottom of the bilge and expel them. that is the science to keep your boat from blowing up.

the engine will move 3x the air that the blowers can.

dont over-think it.

use the aft blower vents you have, hook up a blower to one, and add a bit of duct to the lowest point in the bilge.

It was a warm day and there was time enough after church to glue the floor in place with some peanut butter. I only used a few screws. Mainly at the joiners where the floor was unsupported.
The pieces laid down nice and flat and squished into place as planned except for this last piece in the bow. It needed some dead weight, so here I am.

I just used up gallon number 6

I felt like God was throwing me a bone with the weather and my energy level, so I kept going.
With the floor glued in, I made more peanut butter and filled the gaps and made fillets and transitions.

The pb was bumpy in the bow where the transitions were wide. Not wanting to do any sanding, I started tabbing as a way to smooth it out by going wet on wet.
That worked out great. That took care of the bow. Further back was not a problem. It had been easy to form smooth fillets because the gaps were small.

Looks great! And I second having a deck, that is always a nice day! I hate stumbling around on the inside of the hull!

Put plastic down it is hating life when it gets dirty looking. And everything sticks to it.

When I get ready to glass the deck with 1708, should I use it mat side up? I like the weave, but I'm concerned it will be covered in those little threads that stick out.

Have to have Matt 1st. It fills all the voids/valleys so you don't get pockets of resin only. Resin without glass will fracture. It has no real strength. What I did is 1 oz mat 1st then 1708 with mat up. Wet on wet. So the laminate was mat, biaxal, mat. I did that so I could sand the deck and not sand the biaxal fibers. Those are what's really the laminates strength.

Hoping for more warm weather this weekend so I can keep working on the boat. But in the meantime I would like to send you all a Christmas Car.

He does, but he mainly parks it in conspicuous places for display. People stop to photograph it.
Most police that he meets just want a photo, but one ticketed him. Claimed it was distracting. Lol. If that's the case, he should ticket every Lamborghini, Ferrari, etc.

It was 74° this afternoon as I tabbed-in the refurbished flotation boxes along the sides.

I also cut the main part of my ski locker door.

The next important step is the pour foam.

starting to feel like a boat again huh :) lookin good!

Well, starting to feel like a boat. I can't say "again" because there was never a "before". All I've seen of a completed one is in photographs.

Reminds me of the old joke where Adam said to Eve regarding his first erection; "You'd better stand back. I don't know how big this thing's gonna' get."

I mean, I don't even know how the steering cable and wiring were attached, and so on and so on. I have to figure out every detail as I go.
