Well quite a bit of progress today. The 1st fish box is ready to assemble. And the big gapping hole in the transom for the 290.
They were eroded above the valve seat. It looked like they had water sitting on the area around the seat. My 1st thought was how bad could it be then I saw them and was like Holy Chit!My old eye is not seeing junk, but not there with hands on
350 heads are anywhere from 64cc heads up to 76cc heads. plus if you put 350 heads on a 305, you shroud the valves and it doesnt run rightThey were eroded above the valve seat. Now finding a decent set of replacements may be the hard part. I have a set of a 350 but I am not sure what cc the combustion chambers are these 305 heads are 58cc from what I gather by the casting number.
Yeah it took a odd direction yesterday. The machine shop may be just trying to turn work away as how busy they are or trying to save me some time.I noticed the seats but figured the machine shop can replace them
Maybe a set of heads is cheaper then the machine work
Yeah I was concerned more about the compression ratio then secondly if they would even work with the smaller cylinders.350 heads are anywhere from 64cc heads up to 76cc heads. plus if you put 350 heads on a 305, you shroud the valves and it doesnt run right
No not the motor. The outdrive what Oil does it use and how much? Is there a certain way of doing it?
