:laugh: Nah man, even if I wanted to, I couldn't AFFORD to do meth or crack at this point after all this boat related expense! Work is a bit slow again, so I took the next few days off (Looooong weekend for me!!) and I'm hoping to get her ready for splash by the end of the weekend. May not be able to get the hauler till later on in the week, but i'm hopeful they wont be too busy now, being this late into the season..

Oh yes... ze ruskies....:lol:

ya, there is a factory installed depth sounder on the dash, with a shoot-through hull transducer back by the starboard engine mount. First run will be just a shake down cruise, in a bay/inlet I know very well and is properly marked. If the unit doesn't work, I'm replacing/upgrading it for sure, but I can do that in the water with the shoot-through set up. Good to see you around Zool! :)

Update; pics will follow tomorrow... been busy getting all the little stuff done, and digging through the shop to find all my 'gear' .. Gona need an anchor or two... :lol: and jackets, flares, lines/bumpers and stuff right? Its all here somewhere.... anyway, electrics and lights are all working, cabin is 'done' as its gona get this season, sealed up most of the leaks and cleaned/buffed all but the center of the top superstructure.. Lots left to work on bit by bit, but I can do it on weeknights at the dock... sooooo yup, She is technically ready to drop in, just needs some cleaning and minor re-assembly of some things. (washdown taps, stereo, little stuff..) :D

Hoping splash will be friday, or saturday.. depending on haulers schedule, and my marina.. there are only 2 slips left now, but they are 'meant' for 24ft or under boats.. I may be able to swing a deal for remainder of this season though..I want to go there, and I'm sure they want my $$$ :rolleyes:

It should be an interesting weekend as my buddy is planing on splashing his little ChrisCraft stinger 202 as well... He happened to have a rebuilt 350/bravo one just 'laying around', so we jammed that in it.. it should be fun/scarey/death defying/ect.. we have a bet on who is going to break down and what is going to go wrong.. another friend will likely be out with us in his 23ft century, and he may become the tow boat... he just doesnt know it yet.. :laugh:

Update to the update... Um.. well, now I have to bust my butt and get everything ready, sooner than i thought.. The haulers called me this morning, the only time they have open is thursday morning @8am... Now I get to run around like Im :crazy: for the next few days and make her ready to splash...

Great to hear it's going to be in the water soon. I've been following since day one and was following your last boat.

Nothing like setting a deadline to get er done!! I wish you the best, you seem quite realistic with expectations,a dn what can happen. Let's hope all your efforts are effective and work as expected. This restoration was one of the quickest I've seen on this website. Happy 4TH.

T-minus 11 hours... I am frantically throwing together a tool kit and anything else I might need for the launch/test run.. Made a few lists, went over them 3 times, I'm sure I'll forget something, but I'm 99% that i have all the important issues covered.. put the plug in... leave battery charger on for the night, put the plug in, fire ext. air horn and safety gear on board, put the plug in, leave key in ignition.... I'll be fine.. i can just keep saying that, and it will happen right?

According to my calculations, you should have pants full of ants as you prepare to set sail...
Got fuel? Pre-mix? Don't forget the plug...
May the boating gods smile kindly upon your maiden voyage...
Bon Voyage!

Yes, as the others have said, I hope it is a good launch and that the important stuff works. Then you can hang the "restoration speed record" plaque on your shop wall. :thumb:

Some teaser pics...from last night, her last night in my driveway..

Cabin turned out pretty good;

and my "pic taken in the same place throughout the whole project" pic from the v-birth back;

Helm and seats cleaned up ok, got a fancy new 'marine' sony hed unit mounted, and relocated VHF higher so as not to bash my knee off of it;

Eventually found places for all the bumpers/lines/safety gear;

Oh, and put the plug in as it happened to be the 'last thing on the list' ..then I sat down and had a beer. :)

Aaaaaaaaand..... SPLASH!!!! :joyous:

Although i DID wake up today, and still had a case of ants in the pants... they didnt leave untill I was tying the bow line to my dock...

Got the haulers to stop for fuel on land.. put in $200 worth of premium... gave me a half a tank.. oh dear... :rolleyes:

and snapped a few pics as she went down the road;

It realy looks 'little' on that trailer...

dum da da duummm.....

In the drink she went, and she floats! Need an adjustment to the throttle cable and/or carb idle.. its way too low, and stalled going into gear 75% of the time.. docking was a bit tricky... Luckily, my stepfather was there, and a dock hand from the marina so we got her into the slip without too much trouble, and no crunches or bad noises. No leaks, all appears to be well, and you can see that she sits a good 4" HIGHER out of the water now, judging by the old water line/marks on the hull...

MANY thanks to all the folks here that have posted/helped me along, wished me well, threw peanut shells at me from the sidelines... etc, and came along for the ride. :)

sweet!....but now that youre done, I have "ummm", a few tasks left on mine....hate to see someone just standing idle :D

slow speed idle setting need to be set under load in the water, so the stalling is normal..good job man...

Great that you got it in the water so quick. Take some time now to relax and enjoy her.
