Thanks guys :) Apparently all the glass and resin and ply I put in this old girl did its job.. She feels totally SOLID in the chop and through wakes of 3-5ft... got the throttle cable and idle adjusted this afternoon, and went for a test scream. Yes, scream... this sucker will do an honest 45MPH (@4500rpm) if you push it full throttle.. :shock: Holds plane and cruises nice at about 2800-3200rpm.. Not the fastest thing on the water I know, but i think its pretty decent, considering its a full cabin I can stand up in, with a proper head and a galley.. And the bravo 2 drive really bites in and holds the boat on plane even in fairly rough conditions.. Oh, and the depth sounder AND speedometer in the dash WORK! :lol:

Overall I'm quite happy with how it all turned out, so I'm grabbing some beers, a guitar, and some blankets... and I'm gona go spend the night on her at the dock. :D

Purchase price; $1500 ....almost 3 months of work and materials/parts; $2000 ....docking/hauling/fuel; $1400... Waking up to this;

Priceless :)

She still needs some finishing touches and clean up, but i'm not gona complain.. This makes it all worth it.

That is awesome dude!!!.... You have a very nice boat to enjoy and when the time comes to move on should make a quite nice profit. I hope for my next go around to do something along the lines of what you have. Maybe look into a descent storm salvaged boat from the coast or something.

Thanks again guys, I'm still in a bit of a state of shock to be honest.. I did it.. it floats, and it works.. :D

Didn't take her out this weekend, trying to pull cash together for a trailer I found ($1000, cant turn it down!) and had some other things I want to get in order before a big cruise or overnight.. but I did spend the last 3 nights on her, got the pump toiled working and a new anchor for the bow installed, as the one I had was a bit light, and starting to crack on a few of the welds. I'm already making the 'list' of things I dont like or want to make better/different.. and have come up with the realization that if I sold this boat, the next one would have to be at LEAST as nice looking, and have the same power package/newer drive (or twins) as well as being solid/well built.. Which tome means going to a newer Crownline, Formula, or maybe a carver... :rolleyes: .as it stands right now, ( aside from a wider beam), I've got the best i could hope for already.. I just might HAVE to keep this one! :lol:

Good stuff. That first night aboard soaking up a couple beers must have been very gratifying.

Great to hear you're into the boat so cheap, at my local lake the slip alone would have cost you $4k+ for one season!

If you calculate time, the real cost savings is the hourly wage it would cost to pay a professional to do the work BD accomplished. Materials were most likely not too bad on this project, but maybe he has it broken down to share??

Well to be honest, I didnt keep very good track of 'my time' on this project..:lol: but I would guess on average, I worked on it 4-5 hours through the week (evenings/nights), and usually at least 10-12 hours each weekend.. I started the last week of april, and finished the majority of the work by the last week of June... So I think a safe estimate would be 35-40 hours a week, for 8 weeks.. :eek: Even at $50/hour (i dont know any shops that will work that cheep either, but the math is easy..) that would be about 300+/- hours I put into it... around $15000.... wooowha....

Thought id put up an 'action' shot.. Took some friends out for a little run last night, along with 2 70-80lbs dogs (that you cant see in the pic).. I must say, I'm VERY happy with the boat, and how it runs/handles.. 5 adults and two dogs on the back deck, and she hopped up on plane just fine, and flat out (i HAD to see...) still did 38 MPH!! :laugh: yes, that's me driving it with my "Holy jebus I rebuilt this in my driveway it's working and running like a champ!" face.. The pic was taken just as the bow came down and she picked up speed, almost to my surprise.. Everyone had a good time, and I even nailed the docking in reverse so well no one even had to catch her... just stopped perfect.. :D I believe it is officially "my" boat now..

Good work !! It looks fantastic :rockon:. Now what type and when are you going to get a little dingy for your boat?? Maybe a little 18 footer runabout :fish2:.

I know soon you'll start feeling itch withdrawal symptoms :lol: ,real soon.
