TIP: Instead of using your hands to spread the resin on the vertical pieces try using a Bondo spreader to "Squeegee" the resin up thru the cloth. I think you'll find it works rather well and will keep your hands a bit less sticky. Also @ the intersection of the fillets and the hull use the spreader to hold the cloth in place when you roll the cloth out onto the hull so it doesn't pull away from the vertical piece and create an air pocket. Hope that makes sense. You're getting better!!!
Good advice, thank you, moving right along... good call having me finish it out with CSM, gelcoat is gonna lay real smooooooth

#242 Yep bulkheads just like stringers. Drain holes I've seen coat with PB, torn CSM over the edges, 1708 and PB'd in big piece of PVC cut in half. As long as you get it good and watertight it's your pick. I think you're going to need a hatch for the ski locker. Places like iboats and Boatoutfitters (they carry SR frames) sell them online.

here is how I did my drains...

PVC cut in half..and grooved (for the pb to have something to grip to)

When tabbed in, I went right over them and ground out the hole when cured.... hope that helps.....Im sure there are many ways to get the job done though,,,

I am so frustrated with this forum! The old forum was rock solid. Can somebody please tell me how to post a picture?

Hey Goldie, the spoon and thinner is for making the nice smooth radius fillet in any filler ( PL or PB) the problem with PL, is that it out gasses as it cures creating the bubbles. The spoon and thinner will not help that. That is the reason a lot of folks just use PB for fillets and bedding.

Also, if I may, I suggest you look at friscoboaters threads, there in a bunch of commentary on use of PL. If I remember right, he used it on the searay build, and completely abandoned it on the glastron..... or maybe the other way...

Myself as im sure many others have studied Mr. Jarretts work in awe :), I believe i remember wood advising him in the sea ray build that in fact it could be done with paint thinner, its very possible that i miss interpreted the conversation (thread). I thought from the beginning that it wouldn't work but if wood told me i could jump off a cliff id start flapping my arms and running for the edge!!! he hasn't steered me wrong yet!! :D

From my tests, paint thinner does smooth it out but the gas bubbles eventually return.
