The smooth side to the tank with 5200... use the groves to channel any water out ;) I guess you'll be adding a drain hole from the fuel tank compartment to the bilge....

I was planning to , yes. Figured to keep it plugged unless I was checking to see if the tank was leaking. Still not sure how to strap the tank in though. Only like 1" per side of space, if that much...

Things or looking good your way.
I am going to use some alumminum angle to set over the top of the tank and screw it to the sides of the bulkhead. I will put some 3m 5200 between the angle and the tank.

Thanks Decker...that sounds like a good idea. Was just rereading RickRyder's resto thread...Reminded me I need to get the tank pressure tested before I get it put under deck..

Re: '78 Ebko Lebaron - Therapy

You can make one up like this from parts at the HD or Lowes

So a gauge (Pressure I assume) and a connector to hook hose to the outlet of tank or the air vent tube? How do I block the larger inlet tube?

I used a jim cap from the plumbing dept.....it's used to cap pvc pipe....rubber cap with a hose clamp.

Yep some fittings pressure gauge and an air fitting to supply the air.....you only need 4# of air for 24 hrs.

Just hit all the caps, hoses that you block with soapy water to see if you have any leaks......also to find any leaks on suspect areas.

RR I found the cap...having trouble locating the air valve deal to hold the pressure....any suggestions on where to find one?

Home depot has them on the shelf. I looked for about 10 minutes, but I had to get a HD employee to show me where they hid them.

Thanks, I will try that out tomorrow.

Also finding that air shocks have these fill valves...maybe an autoparts store will carry them...

The tester you buy at the big box store comes with the guage and the schrader (fill) valve included. Plumbers use them all the time to pressure test water and gas pipes. They cost around ten bucks. All you need is the right 3/4" pipe fitting to connect it to your tank. Pm me your address and you can borrow mine if you like, just send it back when you are done.

Thank you so much Auger... having the correct nomenclature sure helps when doing a search...

I already have purchased everything but the Schrader valve. Now that I know what it is called will go get one and test away....thanks for the offer to use yours though.

I need to get to glassing the underside of the deck...cool this morning hot this afternoon....

Have a good weekend all!

Beautiful day...nice and cool this morning...

Too bad I did not have my thinking cap on....forgot to wet the wood ....again...

Turned out ok, but was alot more work..

Wet the wood on this one...

But instead of putting resin in a tray and using the roller to spread it out...
Had the brite idea to pour it from the mixing container...not good - wastes resin...

Left some pools of resin, spread them out the best I could...

Perfection!

To me anyway...this one came out great...

This one doesn't look to shabby either...

Re: '78 Ebko Lebaron - Therapy

Just had an idea...I want water to be able to get to bilge...I also want the strength that putting the foam against the hull will give me.

I had decided to put sheets of plastic on the hull...the foam will not stick to hull and water will still find it's way to bilge..Why not have the best of both worlds? Lay sheets of plastic in areas I will pour foam....but.....Put holes in it. Not like perforated, but a couple of large holes in the center of the section...should give me strength and water shedding...

That's what I am going to do...

I think I held back again but for large deck panels you can pour the resin and then use a large bondo spreader or plastiic putty knife to drag the resin around to distribute it and then use the roller. Just don't over roll it and lift the matt. Don't press down to hard with the spreader either. The glassin look outstanding

Are you saying to use the spreader with CSM down or just to spread it on the Wood, Wood?

Thanks for the compliment.
