You are following the perfect, recommended, unwrittem rules of boat restoration to the letter...
Keep on doing all the little things that need doing while waiting to work on the big things and before you know it...
I was thinking about your upcoming project with having to cut down the stringers and what to use...
I agree with what the guys suggest, PB most if down to hold it steady while cutting...
I think the sawzall, with a medium blade, cut short, [or a short version of one]...would prolly end up giving you the best cut with the most control...
Mark everything to the height you are after and get as close to the line as possible with the sawzall...then get a 24 or 36 grit grinding wheel for the final 1/8-1/4" of material removal...
Lots of sawdust, but will give you the best control to get your finished height...
PS, wear some good gloves, JIC, so's you don't end up like jas...
