Yeah Buddeee!, Way to crank out some progress...looking real good...

It is amazing how an extra pair of hands can be of so much help...

No worries on it getting wet after it has kicked off enough to become hard yet tacky...I imagine there is at least some resin coating the edges...???

It will tend to blush, but return to normal after it dries out...

Troop I have been following along since the beginning and I have to say I like the work ethic and the way u keep pushin on sometimes it may seem little by little but a little every day and allot on others gets things done. You and yours will be getting wet the fun way before you know it!

Thanks for the support. I started this project with just that in mind. To do something everyday until it is finished. Unless work has taken me out of town, besides a few weeks where I had no materials, I feel I have held fast to that. Some days are tougher than others for sure.

Haven't really thought about when it might be ready for water. Will just havetowait and see how it goes.

Little progress tonight. Trimmed all the overhang on the stringers that were glassed yesterday. Took a little longer to do than I thought it would. Cut the bulkheads for the pvc pieces going in the limber holes. Got one done and sealed with 3m 5200. Will get the others done tomorrow and let them cure before glassing. Might work on the front eye backing tomorrow too.

Finished up the water drain holes in the other two bulkheads

Side two of the first one..Actually didn't do too bad with getting the edges of the cutout covered. The top edge will be geting cut away so no worries on that one.

Almost FRIDAY!

I just put them in with 5200. That is some tough stuff once it cures no water getting past it.

Re: '78 Ebko Lebaron - Therapy

Despite a little rain today....and very cloudy skies....

I decided a play lullaby...and start putting stringers/bulkheads to bed...

One dry run to make sure things were going the way they were supposed to...I already had marked their locations with a marker.

Put down my 1/4" strips...Laid down a big ol' bead of PL...Stepped in the PL....twice!...Ran out from the small tube, went and got out the big gun tube...Brand new Gun was put together wrong and would not advance the plunger!

Go fix the gun...previous bead of PL is starting to stiffen on the outside...put down more on top..Lay the stringers down...not as close as I thought it was to hull....bed the bulkhead...pin them together with the brad nailer so they don't move...piped in more PL from the sides...use one of my 1/4" sticks to get rid of the excess....now they are asleep...will check on them in about 72 hrs :)

I also drilled the holes in transom for the outdrive....Chipped/tore glass on the inside...will dress that up later...hind sight says I should have put some sort of backer in place before drilling through (Forstner bit)...maybe some tape or clamped a board in place would have helped too.

Now I hope the weatherman is wrong...looking at thunderstorms for next 2 days :(

Hope you all are having a great start to the weekend!

Hey Trooper,
Your glass work looks great!!! I like the way you did the limber holes, nice and clean.

Did you use the fast cure 5200? How long did it take to setup?

I used the PL on my stringers in the big tube. I had a mess when I was done. (LOL)
Yours looks good.
Hope it dosn't rain you out there. It's already raining here now and will tomorrow.
Keep up the good work.

One more thought. When you drill the holes, try to watch for the center point of the bit when it comes thru and stop and go to the other side and finnish the hole. It will help keep from breaking the glass so much.

Later dude.

Thanks Decker. Not sure if it is fast cure or not. Got it at HD. It was sandable after 2 days, or maybe 3. The other 2 are on 2nd day and still soft. The temps have been a little cooler too though.

I awoke last night to the sound of thunder (well actually it was 5:30 am). How far off I sat and wondered. Ode to Bob Seger's Night Moves.....

Birds are singing and a little rain coming down...

Might luck out and the rain stays south of us....

Re: '78 Ebko Lebaron - Therapy

I don't get it..the first side got hard in like 30 mins....some of the other glassing has taken hours....

But who cares...got the second side done too!

Next on agenda...

Maybe the motor mounts?

If not then the stringers being PL'd continues....
