looking like gelling weather...tomorrow...if it goes as planned....I will be using wax this go around....didn't have tome to get pva.....

Currently 64 degrees, but warming...getting things ready...need to make sure the hull is warmed up before spraying...I seem to have misplaced my wax percentage needed....still looking....

Edit: 2oz per gallon.....need to do the math to break it down to ml..
ok 2 oz per gallon = .5 oz per qt
.5 oz = 14.76 CC
I am going to be mixing 700ml of gel

750ml = .79 qts
.79 x .5 = .39 oz
.39 oz = 11.53 cc

soo.....
I'll be adding 11cc of wax on the last layer of gel....

Captain I had the same problem yesterday and notified the administrator. So far so good today.

Busy Saturday update.....

There was going to NO reusing the old acetone...

The Admiral and Jake were my only helpers today...Took plenty of video...but the camera was on low batteries so only got like the first minute or less...and the camera wasn't even on the action...doh!!

There are 44 pics though...if you use your imagination...they are kinda like a moving picture show...not posting them all...but if you go to the Album Link in my sig, you can see them...

With the Admiral's help..got the masking paper all put on...started mixing and spraying...used 8 pails @ 750ml each..2 coats...last with wax added...Logistics of 2 coats..and getting in and out of the boat between them proved to be a bit of an issue...but a bucket on the sole made it a little easier getting in and out without touching anything...

The cap looks great. Were you able to put more gel on this time.
I didn't try to spray today it was way to windy. Had to take down all the tarps before the wind tore them to peices.

Ya I did two coats, used waxl in second coat...forgot to get pva...just got back from checking....seems to be doing ok....couple small spots seem a bit tacky yet...hopefully they will cure by end of tomorrow...

Hope it sets up for you. It should if the temps were over 70.
What did you keep your acetone in? Looks like it evaporated on you. Was it in a sealed container?

Bucket with a lid...it probaby did evaporate some...

Didn't look in my bucket today, but I bet it did the same thing. Alot of wasted acetone. If I ever do this again I'm buying the gel dump gun.
