Fellas, here are the leds installed in the spot light housings. New set that may be brighter is on the way here. ;)

This pic is of one of the halogens still installed on the port side.

splashed2012001-1.jpg

This is with both leds installed. I like the whiter white, but they need to be brighter for my happiness, lol

splashed2012008-1.jpg

Also, the upgraded led strips have arrived.

splashed2012087.jpg

You can see here there is two lights per every one of the old lights. Same strips, just different number of lights and these are the 5050. This also means you can cut the lights every 3rd light but in smaller increments because the 3 lights are closer together. So more butter, lol

splashed2012066.jpg

12 mile island with some friends. Most of them I don't know, lol There were two center consoles next to me, they were slobbering over the boat.

splashed2012254.jpg

I call this batmans beach, because he owns it when he is there. If you are beached here, prepared to meet batman and like face licks. lol And of coarse thats yours truly next to him.

splashed2012154.jpg

Batman found a girlfriend.

splashed2012175.jpg

Of coarse he had to make himself look impressive,. He is still a stud, soooo, lol

splashed2012167.jpg

Then time to cool off.

Ummm, Does Liberace know you've stolen his belt (or is it Mid-70's Elvis???)??

Those pix are why I wanted the tinny to try & get wet Memorial weekend. Work keeps getting in the way. Alas, it will eventually be done.....

Otherwise, great boat work, great lights, & it looks like a perfectly good critter carrier, even if the house doesn't allow sleepovers:D

Enjoy the good waterway times this summer, esp w/ free moorings:)

Mark, the spot lights that Chris offers are nice, but to be honest I don't like the looks of them. May go that route if I can't find what I need in a led bulb. There is nothing wrong with the spot light housings I have so no need to replace them if I can find the right bulbs.

My boy jumps off the bow when we beach and gets carrier service when getting back on. In other words his daddy lifts him into the boat, lol I have thought about one of those inflatable dog ladders that goes off the stern. Money is tight so who knows when that will be.

I did have a blast the last couple weekends, a little relaxation is what it is all about. Much needed to refuel my internal batteries. :) I saw some seriously huge fish chasing some bait right off the dock project the other day. Need to get some fishing time in, may head out tonite for a bit.

Re: 1990 Chris Craft 254 Seahawk ( Refurb and upgrades)

Haven't really posted any work lately on the boat so here is some.

I still had some demo to do in the cabin and a good clean up was in order to be able to overnite on her. I tackled both this weekend.

I removed the original water tank that was tucked in the berth that extends under the helm in the cabin. There is a berth on both sided. I use them for storage of tools, gear, tackle etc. The water tank may get replaced in a different location later but here is the demo work.

I had to cut the tank to get it out. It was obviously installed while the boat was not coverer with the top cap. hated to cut it, but had no choice, probably won't use the same tank anyway if I reinstall one in a different location.

Tank out.

splashed2012330.jpg

Berth with cradle still in it. You can see it was pretty well molded and filthy. Another area Chris Craft didn't do a very good job, the cradle was made ok, but was just painted. Doesn't look that bad for being 21 years old, but sould have atleast been epoxied. before painted. This was all behind a false wall that I removed though. maybe I will put the false wall back in and that can be where I store the contraband, lmao.

splashed2012335.jpg

Cradle removed. It wasn't going anywhere, the tank was straped and the cradle was screwd into every wall.

splashed2012337.jpg

Hoses cut back and all cleaned out including the last of the monkey fur. Was happy to see the undersides of the deck or the roof of the berth in this picture is atleast resined.

splashed2012343.jpg

Cleaned up the rest of the cabin some, basically just a quik wipe down so I could throw the cushions in. This gets a table that sits in the middle also with a cushion on it as well. Does make a nice place to nap while waiting for the fishing rod to peel off. :)

Re: 1990 Chris Craft 254 Seahawk ( Refurb and upgrades)

Also needed some light down there, so I used some of the 30 lights per meter strips that I had removed from the exterior for the upgraded lights to be installed. These will work fine in here for sure. I have more that will be installed after the walls and cielings are faired out this next off season, but for now, this will do the trick.

Right now these are wired into the existing rgb controllers, but I plan to velcro a seperate contoller to the entry wall and wire them seperate to a seperate contoller when the enterior is finished. This way the exterior lights can remain on or off while the interior lights can be controlled seperately.

Re: 1990 Chris Craft 254 Seahawk ( Refurb and upgrades)

Its funny, the unfinished walls don't even bother me, guess I'm to use to remodeling homes, lol Atleast there smooth and not moldy. Its amazing how good it has smelled down there snce removing that monkey fur.

Eventually the interior will look great. Still in the planning stages, basically at this point I'm starting with a clean slate. Also still looking for all new seals to rebuild the windows or maybe just replace them with something better looking, but that would be a huge project.

Do you have any pictures of building the houseboat with your parents? I would love to see that.

Great updates! I now have some LEDs in the cockpit, and see why you like them. It's nice having that glow of color all around you!

^^^^^^^^agreed, and it looks great down there. ready to enjoy the rest of the season:D,,,,,,,,,,,, slacker,,,,lmao.

are you opposed to just epoxy ing or gelcoating the unfinished areas,,,,? besides losing the sound deadinng qualities,,, it would be a cinch to keep clean, and allow all the color to glow even more than it is now,,,
corse the "lexus" leather treatment (doublestiched headliner) would be way over the top:cool:
just ideas man,,,,,

i still gotta get the placement down for my cabin,,,,,i like the way you placed them there.
again it looks real shaweet:D

What, you now have leds and you haven't posted any pics what!?!? lol I love the lights and they seem to be taking off around here, though it will be hard for them to catch up to me:D Been really enjoying all the stuff on the boat this season. I'll be looking for some led pics on your thread. :)

Thanks man, I have many many many plans for the interior, you will just have to wait to se them, hahahaha. :) The walls will get finished, probably not until I do some other stuff first though. The walkaround will be getting some stiffeners installed before I do anything. I want this thing to be a tank when I am done.

Did some solo trolling the other day, mid day, so not very productive fish wise, but found some great wave points to drop some live lines some night when the sun is setting. Got the big guns out, because I was trolling large lures. Just seeing what might take it. There are huge fish in this river.

Check out this thing, would love to know what it is!! definately going to fish this for a while and see whats hangin around.

dockwork042.jpg

These were ok to! At this point I have like 50 different wave points I want to fish.

Lowrance HDS 7? We got the HDS 5, nice unit, IMO.

I updated with some LED photos. The camera was having a bear of a time getting pictures, but I got a few. Cant wait to get more LEDs on it.

I like them. I have two, I run sidescan/downscan and depth finder on one and chartplotter/radar on the other. Works nice. You can find these hds-7s a little cheaper now that they have come out with the generation II models.

Thanks man, and welcome. You can either scim through my thread or go to this thread That I started on just led lighting strips. :) http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=544182

Couple small bass and some cats but no stripers or hybrids YET! lol :) It has been steaming hot here and I am getting tired of seeing giant fish while working. Then not find them when fishing. But honestly have had to much going on to have the time for a nice overnite fishing trip. This weekend for sure. Though I will be short a radar, because I am sending it in for warranty work.

Yup, hds-7 insights. Should have waited for a couple years, like that would ever happen, lol The gen II stuff looks awesome. But I can say, I am pleased with what I have.

Its hard to get good pics of the light, thats why I stand on the roof, lol :) Wecome to the led crew :)
