Yeah, it was hot as hell here, and did most the shake down boating this weekend. The bilge is completely dry even after a hard 3 inches of rain last night here. Also the seals did not let a drop of water in the fishwells when the boat was self bailing the rain water! Awesome if I do say so myself. :) I will have some more video hopefully by the end of the week with night video. ;) Lots of pics coming up.

Got to pay tribute first though, because that is what this weekend was all about.

These are the new led lights for the spot lights. The regular lights are 55w each. These will be just as bright I think and only draw like 7 watts each. Huge difference in power draw. Will post up some pics of the light difference when installed.

Only pic that came out kinda ok of the dark blue.

congrats, on the succsessfull seal build that is great that they are all working properly,,,, all that rain and no wawa,,,shaweet,,, i am sure it has sumptin to do with those big dog drains you enlarged as well.
and i must say,,, the ability to hose it all out is priceless,,, we just took our (dog hair catching)carpet out to expose all the nonskid and scrubbed her up,,, all that mess just went down the drain and out,,, needless to say the carpet aint coming back,,,lol.
whoever thought of self bailing decks was a genious.

thanks for the boat porn,,,lol,,,,
yep you got to the bridge first,,,,bahahaha,,,lmao.
also i gotta add, i really dig it all one color,,, the red and blue are still my fav but the pink gota have some lure to it,,,,bahahaha.

I have spent the last three days reading this post and have found the push I need to get on track with mine and make it happen. I have alot od work to do now but I will share what I am starting with. 1990 Chris Craft 254 Seahawk 5.7 with about 25 hours under her and a new outdrive. I think I may have paid too much for it but hey guess what now it is all paid for and is mine and the wife is not going to make me sell it :D.. Anyway I will certainly be keeping up with you CC to gain a little knowledge and support throught this process and I will start a thread soon.. just got to get some money set aside for this one... I have two boats so have to split up not only the time but also the money lol but I love my boats.....:eek: As you can see from the green stuff on the boat it has been neglected for quite some time but hey beingin the Navy and doing an 11 month deployment I was expecting much worse but also it is cleaning up nicely...:)

Yeah the drains helped tons with this boat and they were as big as I could go in the drain channel. I'm glad you have some fiberglass under that carpet! Makes it very easy to clean at the end of the day or even during the day. I will never have anything other than a self bailing boat. I haven't gotten to the bridge yet,lol

My favorite colors are the orange, red, greens, blues, purples, whites, etc etc lol :) The spot lights are kinda a disappointment. Have already emailed the people bought from. I will find what I need eventually. these were suppose to be comparable to 55 watt halogen. Not even close. Will post pics later.

Thanks Mccraney, She was not really getting it in the video, was trying to take off slow so my mom didn't miss it,lol

Joe, Looks good man, she should clean right up. Glad to see others taking interest in these seahawks. There was a hell of a deal to be had on tht a couple weeks ago. Have any questions, feel free to ask, will help any way I can. Welcome aboard and I appreciate the comments.

I think I have done what this boat needed in alot of areas. It wasn't perfect by far from the factory, but alot of simple things and simple upgrades can make it a great boat. Good luck with her. :)

Thanks man, like alot of others, I think the colors still stand for everything this country is made of. History tells all. :) I definately need a bigger USMC flag.

sorry to hear about the spotlight bulbs, i was hopeing you would find a solution for the rest of us.,,,,, seems i am always thinking of battery drain lately. i am useing a cordless handheld now, but the truth is i almost never fire it up even though close to 50% of my boating is after dusk. that being said when you need it it is great to have:D.

also,,, as far as the self bailing decks go,,,,,, they are sweeeeeet. cleaning with a hose n brush kicks butt and my antiskid doesn't catch doghair:D,,lol

Ahh, its no big deal, I just need to find the right bulbs with the leds. There is room in the housing for a longer style, may just need more led anodes on it. I don't want to replace the hoasings because they are great, now water intrusion and they have 3 seasons now and still look good. The new bulbs had like 9 anodes on them. There bright enough but not as bright as claimed on the add I bought from on ebay. I'm thinking I need a bulb with like 40 anodes, lol

I told them about it and offered to provide pics of the light output difference and asked what they suggested to get the lumination I need. Have yet to get a response. Told them that in no way does the light output compare to a 55 watt halogen bulb as they claimed on there page. Buyer protection will be a last resort. Kinda like the led strips, trial and error, you just don't know for sure what you have until there here, lol Still waiting on those also. :)

I rarely use the spot lights especially now that I have the led lights, but there nice to have. I sometimes will alluminate them when a boat is barreling towards me from the stern at night. Its like lighting a flare above the water with the halogens. Not really worried about the draw since I don't use them often. But if I can draw 9 watts per light fixture compared to 55 watts per light fixture, why not right. Anyway, wll keep everyone posted.

Just got done reading ALL 40 pages and the boat came out incredible. I really like the extra teak, makes for a classy look. One suggestion for your spot lights, have you considered doing an HID conversion? I used the cheapies from EBay on the head lights and light bar on my Rhino with zero issues. The kits are under 40 and so far have held up well over the last two years. If you do end up looking at them I suggest either the 4500k or 5000k bulbs so you won't have the really blue color.

Funk, the hid is great for my truck, but they still consume to much power for the boat. If I can find a bulb in the h3 style that is led that will put out enough light, it will only be drawing 7 or 8 watts per light. The hid bulbs draw anywhere from 27 to 35 watts. My halogens were very bright but I am trying to make everything on the boat led so there is minimal power draw when there in use.

At 7 or 8 watts each, that is almost a hudred watts I am not drawing with the leds compared to the halogens I had. The led bulbs I bought work, but I have ordered another set that has more anodes but is still an h3. We will see how they look in comparison to what I already purchased. Good thing these leds are pretty cheap.:D

Ohh, an welcome to the thread, hope you enjoyed the read. There are a bunch of comedians on my thread, lol Ohh, and some slackers to. :D
