I like your boat almost as much as a Grady White (and I friggin' LOVE Grady Whites :D). I'd like it better with a big 'ol bracketed outboard though :p

So when this bottom stuff is done, time to get back to work on the cabin?

I'm from central CT but work all over the state.

Long Island sound gives access to a lot of beautiful locations, Greenport, block island, Newport, Nantucket, etc... If your ever visiting the sister, let me know. Always looking for boat passengers!

His boat is "okay ... if you like that sort of thing..." ;)

We need a new term in artistry for this category ... "boatistry," perhaps.

I'm starting to think you like Grady Whites, lol Me too, but when I was done with the 22' seafarer, I moved up to a much nicer ride:D

The interior will have to wait, I still have lights to install and trim to varnish. And who knows how long I still have on the bottom.

When and if I can ever retire back to the coast, this boat will probably be transformed into a outboard conversion. But for now, I like the I/O for river cruising.

I have covered everything from Montauk to NY City by way of the sound. I really miss the fishing up there. If I take a vacation, its probably going to be going south, but I will keep the invite in mind. ;)

Well, didn't get as far as I would have liked today, but what a gorgeous day it was. I scraped down the other side today between rollers and then sanded with 600 film disc.

THEN, sanded with 800, 1000, and 3m compounded by hand. still needs a good polishing and wax but looks pretty good!

Wow, by the time you are done you are not even going to need roller bunks...you could throw some wood ones covered in 36 grit sandpaper and it looks like it will just glide off of there:cool:...and I would be happy to get rid of the rollers for ya......what are iboats buddies for anyhow, right???:D

Great looking job, and you can begin to see light at the end of the tunnel...and, No, it ain't a train comin at you...LOL

The bottom of your boat is cleaner and shinier than the hull and topsides of 95% of the boats I have seen! Impressive!

Todays update, got the stern behind rollers sanded down to 1000 film disc and 3m compounded. winched the boat back up to its proper position, so the trailer could give it a big hug again.:p

Then started on getting the bow area in front of front rollers sanded down to 1000 and compounded. Also straightened and torqued down my winch post, it was crooked, lol

Pics of stern bottom.

Sanded from bow pulpit to front rollers on port side, starboard will be done later this week. Still have the outboard areas between edge of hull and first chine to do all the way down on both sides. And some in between rollers now that the boat is positioned back where it belongs. It seems like it just goes on and on, and my sore muscles are taking a break tomarrow, suppose to rain all day.

Pics of the bow area that I had already sanded with 320, shouldn't of even wasted the time. Hit it port side with 600, 800, 1000, 3m compound.

You could always drive down to the river & fling some good ole' Ohio River brown mud on the hull to cut down on the glare!

We don't want you causing any wrecks on the freeway while other drivers stare at their reflections.......

Thunder is definately on the short list if the weather is nice and the river isn't flooded. Its like flipping a coin and guessing how it will be. No wax on the hull yet. Will be using Woodys Triple XXX wax.

I can't slow down, probably have another 6 months of work on this thing to go, have many projects ahead. Teak around bow will be taken off this weekend and varnishing will start. Hoping to have most of the bottom complete by the end of weekend also.

No rush for the lights, but they will be ordered in the next couple days.

Good reason to strip the paint off your boat or atleast inspect the bottom on accation. Definately have some patches to do. Thus the reason for no wax yet on the hull. I probably have atleast 10 spots to repair, mostly on the chines and keel, nothing major, but left untouched, could become an issue.;)
