Wow micky, I have seen you bumping around here but I have somehow missed your thread. Good looking conversion there man. That tick you here might be timing gear backlash. Those 3.0 engines are famous for that in forklifts. Never owned a marine one but i cant expect much difference.

you hit it on the head because I can back off the nut and its a totally different sound then the tick that's there but I did get it quieted down as much as I could and she purrs like a well oiled thrashing machine... these 3.0 don't like low idles lol its around 700 then it starts misfiring a bit is my guess or something because it does miss abit any lower and you can smell unburnt gas. take it to 7oo its fine take to 1000 and up and damn its smooth as silk carb rebuilt so i dont think it would be idling circuit I think it just has crappy manifold that don't really atomise fuel well at low rpms

been real nice working on the boat these past few nights with the skys clear and the nights warm, I took and cut more storage in front seating area of cabin, and finished wiring a couple of things I have since added, now to decide if I want to put a camera up front where anchor is so I can watch as it comes up, I'm really bad about loving tech stuff lol

Christmas is just around the corner Mick. Of course, a piece of tape or even a length of rope at the end of the anchor, cut to a certain length would also tell you when the anchor is all the way up but that wouldn't be any fun right?

I was thinking a bell so when it rode over the pully it would ring but like ya say that's not nearly hi tech enough for me rofl plus this joying android radio has so many possibilitys I'm enjoying pushing it to what its capable of doing , so far chart plotter fish finder gps cam for pulpit and cam for movies of fishin, crabbin, tubing skiing with daughters and friends . yeah it will pull a skier np since it was a ski boat before it became this lol.

got all my Christmas shopping finished iPhone 7 for both daughters went a long ways lol and the missus covered the small stuff stocking stuffers and what not, rest is gift cards for friends who have everything :)

How did you integrate the fish finder in that panel?

its a joying android radio and I'm using the raymarine wifi fish finder with app for android tablet that works on the car stereo :)
coolest part is its single din :)
