very happy with tabs but I might wind up going with hydraulic ones eventually to be able to compensate for when its just me, small boat likes to list a bit when I sit on seat at high speeds with no equal load on port side. btw highest I took it was 30 on the gps and that was at 3k rpm so wondering what speed would be at 4500 rpm now lol 30 felt fine though.

reading further into it it seems something might be amiss because these are supposed to compensate for that,
so I guess I'm going to have to do a wee bit of investigating. will say this though I had no bow rise and it planed easily even at low speed.

btw I cannot stress enough how badly home depot purchased plexi glass scratches, not sure its bad quality it just seems to get scratched by air lol and where the side that faces east already has cracks internally like it overheated or something ... things to note . I'm thinking I will go with laminated glass just because haven't spoken to many about tempered and they say most boats have laminated in them, not sure if that's a cost thing or quality thing.

If you know it's just gunna be you in the boat you can set the tab at its strongest setting on the side that it leans to .
That may help a little while on plane .

so I picked up a windlass for the boat , one of the last pieces I needed , I went with the trac 35 pontoon since its just a river/lakeboat plus I like how it keeps rope on it and I don't halfta store it . pics incoming after she's mounted and tested of course
there will be modifications and whatnot and I have a switch on dash but the main body part is what I was after, I will take the swivel part off front and use the wheel on my pulpit was my thought

yeah I took a hit on the dock with pulpit so I got some touch ups to do but the whole thing is about to get a final coat after I get the glass for the windows speeking of glass guy came by Friday to measure he can only put laminated in the 4 front windows cause sides have slight bow so it is what it is I will just halfta make sure not to scratch side ones lol

I like that bow anchor winch setup. I have been thinking about putting a small one inside the nose of the Laker tunnel when I build it If I do, I'll make sure to add an appropriately sized hatch to allow access to it for service or maintenance. Out on top like yours is isn't really an option on my boat due to the shape of the front.

Wood is correct, tab the deck in with 1708. Then a singel layer crossing over that and going up the hull 4 or 5 inches is plenty. My deck is also 3/4 inch ply.

so I sat there goofing off with the winch today and realized damn I need a camera on the pulpit to watch the anchor lol oh and the camera on the front is actually hooked up to reverse cam on the joying stereo so when I come into a dock or am dealing with something on the bow ,
I can turn cam on with flick of switch "hooked into the reverse"(orange wire) wire of car stereo" and see whats happening . pretty nifty if ya ask me
no clue how the cam got off center but its fixed now .

I just wonder if its that or something else because with the hydrofoil on before tabs it listed till I found other set of holes original po had put on then it was fine , however maybe he had listing as well and the second set of holes was compensation as well ...

might take daughter out tomorrow for her 18th birthday I checked those lifters again they just don't get any quieter then that, lol I even tried adjusting them around 2k rpm and it just didn't matter back at idle it had the slight tick tick tick these engines are famous for , keeps it up ill throw a small block v8 in it and be done with it

Wow micky, I have seen you bumping around here but I have somehow missed your thread. Good looking conversion there man. That tick you here might be timing gear backlash. Those 3.0 engines are famous for that in forklifts. Never owned a marine one but i cant expect much difference.
