today is wheel bearing day, imma replace the races and bearings on this beast but I'm actually going to replace axle and springs with axle less suspension next month but I figure that's 2 weekends of boating id miss out on so I will fix this today
Ugh, it "warmed" up to the 20's this week. I envy your winter weather. You can keep the spring, summer and fall though, along with hurricanes, spiders and snakes!!!! Haha
Hey, it's overkill for lakes probably, but if you go out on the saltwater for salmon and game of the size, Penn 109's are direct drive and really cheap for a like-new model. $40 gets you a life-long reel. My whole family loves them. If you get a king salmon or a fast runner you'll need a leather pad cause thumb-breaking it will scalp your thumb to a nub. Almost did mine anyway.
Direct drive reels are a very satisfying way to make the fight as fun as when you were a kid.
