think I might make a new motor box and narrow the engine bay up to gain more space back there, I guess when wellcraft made these boxes they were big enough to fit any sized Engine available, but I got to thinking, why do I need a Engine box that big for a 4 Cylinder, might be able to gain a 6" on each side of box that would allow for coolers to fit in those areas and function as seats as well.

Happy New Year Mick. I hope your new place has a convection oven too. :D or maybe she'll throw you out with the oven and everyone's a winner. Lol. New years resolution....I will not use the wife's appliances to build boats

Haha, nice work Mick! She totally knew the second she came home.

Good plan on the dog house. More fishing deck is always a wise choice.

Happy New year Mick!!! While you're out to dinner, run another cycle of parts through the dishwasher so she doesn't know. What? What did I do? I think I saw a bottle rocket go whizzing by my head. Lol

worked on a narrower box today it looks more appropriate with the boat then the old engine box I had as well I think.

lol it kinda resembles it don't it :) I wanted to maximize the room back there so I could fit 2 electric coolers on each side of dog house the engine cover that I had was a standard wellcraft I guess they could fit a v8 under it but I only got a 4 so didn't need all that extra space
shaved 6 inches off each side now I can put 21" coolers on each side to serve as seats and coolers:)

Micky,.. those 12v coolers are battery killers,... just a heads up when you shut the engine down you wont want to run them very long.

thanks Shaw, I kinda figured that so when designing her I put a 100 amp alternator on it and figure when I turn off engine I will make sure they are on the switched side of the engine as to not drain the batteries :)
I am not much of a sitter though I prefer to be moving trolling trot lining and that kinda thing so most times it will work fine and when I do sit I will just have to crank it up for 5 to 15 mints to recool them but , I figure as long as they aren't opened every 2 minutes they should hold cool for awhile.
