Looks good, clearly you've been paying attention over on the Jas-channel

Very nice progress...Looking very well laid out...

I see a nice fishing/cruising/family fun vessel in your near future...

I noticed where you used some aluminum angle to help hold the fuel tank, side to side...I would suggest you get some regular vacuum tubing, slit it length-wise and slip it over the edge of the angle where it comes in contact with the fuel cell...just a little extra protection...

Looking good, making major progress. Congrats. The tank mounting looks good.

Thanks for the fly by... Trying to knock it out one little step at at time... Its nice to see it start to take shape a little.

Good stuff as always !

Thanks S.P.!

I wouldn't go that far (he sets the bar pretty high), but it is nice to have Jas's project as a frame of reference, since our boats are so similar..

Thanks Gus; That's a good tip on the angle pieces... I'll be sure and do that..

Sheesh, I got a long, long way to go before I'm anywhere close to you... The list of open items is too long to even reduce to writing...

Have everyone has a great day.

Just checking up on you. I'm going to add a casting deck to mine so I'm actually spying on you. Looking good.

Re: 1988 Sea Nymph GLS - 17'

Thanks fellas:
Tried to get a head start on the weekend this a.m....

Wanted to get the top piece of the bow deck measured and cut...

So, i measured the width from center line at 3 key points (see markings on pic below), then threw the board on the top of the boat (Jas trick) and traced the gunwale radius through those points... Shifted it over a bit and did the same thing on the other side:

Then, a quick cut with a jig saw:

Then placed it in the boat (perfect fit on first try - nice):

Some of you more careful observers will note the lip extending back over the aft bulkhead.. I did that on purpose for 2 reasons: (1) I wanted the front/leading edge to stop right on the cross brace just in front of the fish box because that is where I will join the little nose piece; and (2) when I mocked up my boat the other night with the consoles in place they angle back and away a bit (about a 1.5 inches) where the new/raised bow deck height is... So, I will cut away the middle section (as noted in pic below) flush with the bulkhead and extend to the two outer flanks a couple of inches flush with the back side of the consoles... Hopefully that makes sense..

Happy friday to you and hope everyone has a good weekend.

Good ole Jas has some great tips.:D The deck looks good. Great ideal for the deck to meet the consoles. Good planning.

This may be an iboats first... Seems like there was a real life coon messing around in my garage while I was at work today...

He left the place a wreck too...

Troop, glad you stopped by... sorry I missed you... You could have at least cut my hatches and maybe started on my rear casting deck while you were there... :)
